skyline r32 vs fc3s
 

i really dont know if i want to sell my car or not for a skyline r32, ive got some mods on the rx7 for potential of 400rwhp, stand alone, t04 etc... if i keep the rx7 i'll make it look like this http://www.hoshi-ss.com/tecstar/fc00011.htm as i'll have the money for the rea kit, rmagic sideskirts and rear bumper and the wing.

if i get a skyline i want to make it look like this, i dont like leaving cars stock, i'll just throw on gt2835 twins from hks; a power fc d-jetro as ive done with the fc3s.. im turnin 24, and i have had my rx7 since i was 20, im thinking its time for a change maybe.. heres the skyline with a do luck bodykit, i think it looks sick, as its the only car i would ever replace my rx7 with, i wouldnt even give up my car for a fd..

either car i get i'll be rolling with at least 400rwhp... i looked up threads comparing the two but when things start getting modified, stock vs stock rule goes out the door... in my point of view they both look just as good, there equal in looks. what would you pick in your honest opinion, as this is no easy task for me...

90% of the people on this forum have never driven a Skyline, so youre not going to get very helpful comparisons, just opinions of people who have no experience. I personally cant see the skyline being a very fun car to drive. Sure it can make tons of power, but its weight has to hurt it. I just think of it being a larger AWD DSM... which I can say I have experience with, and dont like too much.

on another note... I say keep the 7.

ahh come on guys dont jack my thread cuz im thinkin about selling!! lol... in Canada cars have to be 15 years or older for us to import them so r33 and r34 is outta the question..

i like the R32, problem is, i've only seen one. no experience. i love their beauty and potential, but all i know are pictures and numbers.

I like the way the 7 looks a little better than the R32/R33. Now the R34....That's a different story!! I'd trade my FC for an R34 any day!

Well, for what it's worth, I've driven and heavily modified both cars. I can honestly say that both are good in their own way.

Admittedly, the R32 is heavy and weight is definitely a huge drawback when considering a sports car.

I like the controlled tossibility(sp) of the FC due to its weight.

FTR, all my tuning experience of both cars were on GT3 ;)

shit i forgot to add some things.. i just got my engine rebuilt, and i dunno its still burnin oil i spent 5k cdn for it and im getting really dam frustrated with it.... i am willling to take the car to the states to take it to a good engine rebuilding/tuning shop... i have a power fc, which doesnt matter if they can tune for a fd they can tune for a fc.. closest places in america are to me are grand forks, fargo, and if i drive about 14 hours minneapolis, detroit and chicago become options.. this is when i really need hhelp from the board, if i can take it to a trustable knowledgable place and i wont have nomore enigine troubles i'll keep it, can you guys help me out on that?? i refuse to take it anywhere in Canada...

Overall, the skyline still looks like a pile of dogshit with some spraypaint on it, IMHO. Sorry if I offend anyone by saying that, but I just don't like the looks of it at all, but damn, it's a quick little thing from what I've read.

I'd trust the r32 more if you're searching for huge power.

Personally I feel AWD has no place on paved streets. AWD cars do not turn well at all at high speeds, much like FWD cars. Granted, if you have an adjustable front differential you can make the car behave a little bit more like a RWD but its still not good enough. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not saying that AWD cars dont grip, they grip too well. As someone else stated, if you want to convert it to a RWD it may make for a little more interesting drive however the weight of the car is a serious setback. IMO AWD was built for offroad driving but again due to the weight, the Skyline has no real place there either. So where does the Skyline belong, on the show circuits and in the movies. Then again... you may only be interested in drag racing, where pulling all for wheels in a straight line would definately provide you a supreme benefit if you can provide enough power to overcome the extra weight while still maintaining reasonable reliability. While I've never had the pleasure of pushing an "R" on the edge of it limits, I have driven a few down I-95 while in south florida for transport purposes. The closest I got to pushing the car was taking an exit ramp 15 mph faster than the suggested speed limit. Even then I wasn't exactly happy with the feedback I was getting from those cars. Most of my excitment was simply from the fact that I was driving right hand drive vehicles in the US. Verdict... Keep the 7 and go 20B

as much as the majority of people here won't believe, the Skyline was a slightly superior car up until the FD came into existence...even then it's a close comparison only with the S7 FD. yes, weight is an issue with the skylines, but it didn't weigh an incredible amount more than the RX-7. it still accelerated and stopped faster. when the RX-7 was on its second generation and using semi-trailing suspension, the Skyline was on its seveth generation and using independent multi link assemblies. the RB26DETT was and still is perhaps one of the smoothest powertrains out there.

The R32 GT-R was made so that they could race it in the Japanese Group A series, which required that all cars raced must have a certain number of production models produced for the street. This was the sole reason they made the GT-R...

in the end though these cars both perform exceptionally, and have their own nuances. either way, it comes down to what you prefer. you really have to drive both to decide, and i haven't driven a skyline, so i can't/won't say too much here, as others who haven't should not either...

lol no no thats not my fc..... but i will have the money to put that bodykit on it, its the nicest fc in my eyes ive ever seen.. such a clean looking kit... i just have problems to sort out or just switch to a r32 dunno yet, so far advice been wikked from everyone..

I was lucky enough to take a ride in an R32 earlier this summer. I have to say prior to seeing it live, I thougth the R32 was ugly in comparison to the R34. But I really liked it when I saw it, understandably the guy wouldn't let me drive it, but he took me for a couple of passes and it felt very quick, but that may have had more to do with the fact that I was not in control. I don't know what mods he had.

But overall, I would take it over an FC. But an FD 20B is where it is at for me.

If it's a GTR I'd say go for it. I've ridden in a lightly modded one, and I was breathtaken by the performance. If you doubt this car, I HIGHLY suggest you ride in one. I guarente your opinions will differ afterwards.

You are comparing the FC to a R32 GTr aye, not a Fc to a RWd 2 litre turboed R32, we have shit loads of the R32 2 lt turbos in NZ, we have them in 4 door aswell they are called R32 GTST.

You cannot compare a FC to a GTR the power is different by like 70 horsepower, by that I mean stock. And to get 400 hp out of a GTR well that is heaps easier than getting 400 hp out of a FC.

But if you compared a GTST to a FC they would be similiar, oh you can also get a GTST in 4wd. The only thing these two cars share is that they are coupes.

Thats all in my opinion

GTR or GTS-T, I'd be all over it.

I will own an R33 before I'm 27. Just have to get the house paid off first. :bigthumb:

get the 7. in my honest oppinion you will just have alot more fun with a 7. r32's are boring in my oppinion, there are so many here in nz, every guy and his mum has one and they just arnt that nice looking.
