shift up light indicator not working
 

so i have a 87 gxl S4, i let my friend drive it and now, the shift up light indicator doesn't work. anyone know? please help, thank you.

The dash light or fuse probably went out

Has it ever worked correctly? I remember laughing every time it told me to shift into 5th at 40 mph just cruising along.

Its a blessing, stupid light

it sure would be cool if there was a way to change what rpm it comes on at so we could actually use it. my guess is its for best mpg's.

I can shift w/o a light telling me when I need to.

check fuses, or check bulb in cluster, check soldering points in cluster.

dont check anything there is a good chance something else will break in the process, lol
