shift points on an 89 TII
What are the fastest shift points on my TII?
Should I be redlining it to get the most out of every gear? Also, why do the N/A 2nd gens have their redline at 8k and limit at 9, and the TIIs are 7k / 8k? |
Power in a stock tii starts to drop off at the beginning of the redline. No point in going any higher than that.
If you want to find the ideal shift point for your car, get on a dyno and find exactly where you peak. |
ive been meaning to get to a dyno, but before i put any money into performance i wanna fix all that is broken 1st ;)

stock turbo II starts losing power after 6000 or so.
I still lose power after 6200 or so |

The good thing aboot rotaries, is that they have a flat torque curve, so you have a bit more room to play with, eh. |
going to redline is typically the best way to do it.
