seeking advice before yanking my wank
Have a 91 tii that was neglected by previous owner and now has low compression on both rotors. Needing advice before making my decision here on the options I've considered. Was thinking about either going with a used jdm motor/tranny that would supply me with extra parts needed (a.c. compressor, ps pump,transmission, ect). But am worried about spending the 1500 to get a unknown motor with supposed low miles...other idea was sending the current motor off to rotary resurrection to get rebuit as I do not have time to do it myself currently. Anyways am open for advice on which route to take.

Talk to Japan2LA. Sometimes he takes a week or 2 to respond, and he doesn't have a website. From what I've experienced, he's honest and will sell you a guaranteed good engine. Getting a used rotary from any other importer is a huge gamble that will probably result in disappointment.

And why risk a Jdm Rust filled keg?. My suggestion is Japan2LA for a Decent JDM engine that has been inspected or you can go to Kevin and get the work done. ........ Oh and the title?..I was gonna suggest watching some Girl on Girl Porn,but then realized you are talking about something different. |

Go for a rebuild, that should yield you the best possible motor. :)

Kevin is a pretty good guy to work with. Had an engine rebuilt by him for my old S5. Engine was gorgeous and has been running since 2008ish.

I recommend you try the ATF trick and see if that helps compression before you pull the motor. |

I'm no expert on this, but I would personally never use anything other than the stock oil cooler on a street car, unless you're going to use 2 very large oil coolers. The stock FC cooler is pretty damn good at its job, from what I understand.
