hrmm, how "furry"? i never bothered to really look at other people's glove boxes. mine has a thin layer of a soft black lining. is the lever where the glovebox door shuts on it? i know there's a light for the glovebox. take some pics??

yes that would be the light for the glove box. i have heard of kill switches in the glove though, but if you noticed that your glove box had a lift, that would then be the switch.

if it were me, it would be an "on/off" switch for electrical current. whenever someone tries to jack the stereo, *ZAP!* okay, thats a pipe dream, but it'd be cool.
i imagine its not easy to trace where the wires are going, but that would help. or maybe trial and error... if it does anything, i'd imagine it'd be relatively simple to play detective.

base models and most S5 models got the plastic unlined glove box, while the upper market models all got the felt lined gove box.

Do you mean the switch that is for the glove box light to come on when the parking lights are on?
