s4 TII and s5 TII rotor question
Just had to ask this before i head to work..
Scenario- s4 tii Irons s4 Tii e-shaft s5 Tii rotors s5 tii stationary gears IF i ran this setup i would need s5 tii front and rear CW s5 tii front assembly? Any TII flywheel and seriies specific clutch pack. I would also need-a s5 tii rotor rebuild kit, or are they universal amount the turbo's as well? May be a dumb question. Just wanted to clarify what was in my head on the way out the door. |
The only parts that need to match the rotors are the FRONT COUNTERWEIGHT and the flywheel/rear CW depending on if an aftermarket flywheel is used. If using a stock flywheel it must be S5 T2. You will be able to use all the same gaskets/seals depending on which intake manifold and turbo you use.

what do you mean "s5 tii front assembly"?
also, any afrermarket tii or a stock fd or s5tii flywheel will work. stock fd flywheel is cheap and lighter than the tii's and uses the same cw as s5 |
I have an aftermarket ACT fly wheel. still gotta use a s5 rear cw though correct?
What i mean by front end assembly is the oil pump/chain/sprocket and all the bearings/spacers. basically everything under the front cover |
Rotating assembly has to match. That means S4 Rotors ==> S4 counterweights. S5 rotors ==> S5 counterweights.
All the stuff under the cover is the same, however the front cover itself is different. Mazdatrix has an article about the difference between s4 and S5 front covers as it pretains to sealing against the front iron. |
