Rx7 lsd

I know this is a stupid question, but will a turbo II lsd fit in place of the stock s5 open diff, or do I need other parts to complete the conversion? Sorry, ive only had my rx7 for a few months, so I still have alot to learn about them. Thanks!

You will need a custom driveshaft and TII half shafts.

You'd be better off swaping a GXL lsd instead.

So then would the gxl diff fit without modifications? I dont really care what lsd I have, anything is better than the stock open diff.

Why not get your open diff. welded?

Why would I want to do it the cheap ass way? It would probably cosy more to do that anyways with the pricey mechanics we have around here...:wallbash:

1. It will be an LSD rather than an open differential.
2. It will have the bolt pattern for the non-turbo driveshaft and non-turbo halfshafts.

If it doesn't meet #1 above, then it is a regular open differential. If it meets #1 but not #2, then it is a turbo LSD.

Keep in mind that most original S4 LSDs need a rebuild, and the parts cost about $800. Depending on how much you race, it may need a rebuild in a year or two. If you don't replace the worn clutch parts, then it will act like an open differential. Therefore, if you are not willing to rebuild the LSD, then you may as well just keep the open differential.
