rotor and main bearing question
I just pressed in my new rotor and main bearings at work yesterday. I set them about as flush as I could with the edge of the rotor. My question is do the bearings need to be exactly flush with the edges? The one rotor bearing is maybe a thousands or two away from flush, as with one of the main bearings. I fugure they just need to be very close if not perfect.

The goal is to get that key seated perfectly in it's keyway. Failure to do so can promote bearings to spin. Sounds like you're in good shape, though.

Yeah, I didn't have any problems lining up the keys. I had the bearings really cold so they didn't turn at all on me. I was worried about how far I should press the bearings in. I didn't know how much play they had on the e-shaft so I wanted to make sure that they didn't have to be pressed insanely perfect (up and down wise).

I've seen factory bearings out several MM on the stationary gears, but the keyway is always aligned. On the rotors, as flush as possible is best, but a very slight degree of error is not the end of the world.
