NOW we're getting somewhere. A serious mod. Just extra weight. They gave you a steering wheel to avoid static objects and a key to turn the engine off and come to a stop. Press on with the weight reduction. I'll stop now. On to the serious replies.

That sounds good! Consider them gone... but unfortunately I have to keep the steering wheel with this mod. But considering the weight difference the steering wheel is the one I keep!

i have 16,000 posts on another forum, means nothing to me.

just relax and consider it a learning experience, without a little pain some things are easily forgotten.

Mombodogs 07-31-05 08:33 PM

What the hell does how many posts have got anything to do with helping, or insulting new people like us? No offense molehill, but what the hell does his knowledge, or lack thereof, have anything to do with most posts. I think Ill start a thread asking for pics of engine bay for anyone with more than 100 posts, who can compare with this vision of loveliness.

If you remove that then you might as well but some drum brakes on there as well cus your going to be setting your car back about 25 years...

Let us know how that works out. I'm very curious to know why Davies Craig resorted to legal bullying (threats of expensive law suits) when AutoSpeed tried to publish the results of extensive testing of their EWP and controller several years ago. They're still effectively gagged, which I think is disgusting behaviour from an aftermarket supplier. I emailed Davies Craig twice asking for their side of the story but they didn't have the courtesy to reply... :(

On topic people...Unless you have something helpful to add, please don't post.

I was reading somewhere...that some race cars do not run a booster. Saying it gives better feel.

But they do not have a booster period. They just don't undo the vacuum tap.

Iīm kind of skeptical to the quality of the pump just by looking at it, but alot of people in Australia use the Davies Craig EWP. I would like to read the test result from AutoSpeed, and I think that that kind of behaviour just gives Davies Craig a bad reputation!
But since I have bought it, I will test it and se if it works. I will however buy another one to have in reserve just incase... just donīt like that plastic feeling.

molehill 08-27-05 03:26 PM

Iīve mounted the pump now...

OK, I have been scanning through looking for an answer to my question, and came across this post again. Dog is off the hooch right now, so I have just one question? What did you finally do with the brake booster line? Also, like previously stated, nice f-king engine bay. When its up and running, the sun shines in December in California, come on out and make mine purty.

PEACE THE DOG p.s. yes, I am a jerk, but I can live with that. SORRY!!

molehill 08-28-05 08:13 AM

I removed the boost line, together with the brake disks, steering wheel, drivetrain and the big "thing" in the engine bay. The "thing" kinda looks like a big hamburger laying on the side... but itīs alot bigger and attached to the gearbox.

Of course I left it as i is! I think being able to stop is a pretty good idea...

I would love to come to California in December, the snow is laying thick here in Sweden then! But the transportation of the car over the sea, just for a cruise in the Californian sun is a little bit to much trouble ;P

Mombodogs 08-28-05 08:56 AM

Glad to see you are still here. American humor is complicated, like these f-kin cars. Just disconnect the driveshaft from the rear-end, drop down to 13 degrees, hold there with wire and duct tape, put propeller on end of shaft, tape the tires to two, not one, two surfboards, fill up with gas, and I'll have the meatballs ready when you arrive. Glad to see you have not lost your sense of humor.

PEACE THE DOG
