Can i remove the brake boost line?
What does it do? |
Why would you ever want to remove it? That line supplies vacuum to your power brakes. Yes, you need it unless you enjoy practically standing on your brake pedal to stop the car.
|
The reason would be that it would be much easier to route the fuel hoses without it.
But now when I know exactly what it does, thereīs no way Iīm removing it! Thanks for the answer! |
Man mole your set up is AWESOME!
|
i highly doubt that is his considering he did not know what that booster line did

It is his.

I think you should remove the line. The car will be lighter and there will be less clutter in the engine bay. It's just like some emissions device. Ignore all the above responses.
|
Mr. Hailers, although your response re: weight issue is correct, you incorrectly stated that there would be less clutter. If I remember correctly, in your thread from months back, entitled, " what a mutter, look at da clutter", you stated that pixie dust would completely hide any eyesores. Are you going back on your previous statement? Molehill, around halloween, at Burger King, they give the dust away with a kids meal. Be patient, and you can get rid of the eyesore then. LOL.

You guys! Of course itīs my car, but I have been thinking of other things than the ugly brake booster line! Iīve just started to route the fuel lines in my beatiful engine bay ;) and I just thought that since everything else that is for comfort is gone this little sucker could go to... but as I said before, now when I know exactly what itīs for itīs gonna stay!
Btw there is like 100 FCs in Sweden and I donīt have many people to ask here, and a little corny line in the bay isnīt the first thing we look into! But now I know! |
molehill, how can you have done that much to your car with all the mods and not know what that does. I dont want to sound like an ass, i mean there are tones of little things that i dont know but should.....but that is on almost every car.
|
I havenīt payed that much attention to that particular part. All I knew was that it had something with the braking system to do. Now I know exactly what it does! perhaps I should mention that Iīm in a hurry... Thatīs why I posted this silly question, I could have saved some time be just removing that line, but know the hoses will have to take another route!
|
Molehill, you either had someone else do the work to your car, or I just came off a tequila sunrise. Dude, that is one the most gorgeous under the hood vaginas Ive seen on a RX lately, so please tell me that you did the work yourself, and got into my bottle, cause Id quit drinking for that set up. Lie to me and say you got in my bottle. Appologies to you for my inconsiderate post. Dude, read next time, and you wont make an ass out of yourself like I have done so many times.
|
i was kind of surprised at the question after seeing the engine bay pic too.. :p:
|
I have done everything except the CNC machining and the welding.
Iīve thought everything out myself. Havenīt bought a kit, or anything. And as a mention before there are very few FC here in Sweden, so I donīt have alot of people to ask. There is not one singel tuner that tunes rotary engines here! No one else has touched the enginebay! I have done drawings to all the stuff that has been CNC machined, and Iīve cut the pipes and my friend just welded them together. Iīve fabricated the fixture for the exhaust manifold so I got it the way I wanted it... No one else has touched a screw on my car!! When I first started this project 3 years ago I didnīt know anything about cars, and now I just have to start the car before this fall, so therefore the stupid incompetent question! Sorry if Iīve made a foul out of myself, and I will not ask anymore questions! |
Don't be so thin skinned. They're just fucking with you. The intercooler ducts look professional. But I don't have much use for cars that don't have enough wiring. humor
Notice how one bozo called my remark SARCASTIC? I didn't let that get me down, even though I KNOW I have not one sarcastic bone in my body. |
I just take things a bit to personal... But thatīs only because I love my car!
And after 3 years of waiting, Iīm impatient to get her out on the streets, so itīs not totally impossible that I might ask another stupid question ;) but I think I read in the FSM first from now one :) |
Dude, now your being silly. Relax, I caught a lot of shit for my first few threads. They said" shut up, read, then come back and dont post, shut up and read. Have learned more here than any freaking manual could teach. Your car is clean and dynamic. Keep it that way, and I'd really get rid of that line. Once you drive it once, who needs brakes, thats what they made guard rails for. Peace! RUF RUF RUF

Post count should never be considered. Only the correct answer should be considered. |

I have another question. There are som kind of metal disk inside the wheels, they seems to be pretty heavy! Itīs one by each wheel, would it be okay to remove them? I really think the car would weigh much less without them... ;)
|
Molehill, as long as you are removing the brake boost line, what the hell, might as well remove those diskies, rotors as people with slow down devices call them. One more weight saving idea. Inside each tire, if the air gets stale, It picks up excessive weight. Make sure to change the air in the tires weekly. And lastly, if you dont smoke, the ashtray and light will definitely improve your horsepower. Peace. RUF RUF RUF

molehill: whats the deal with the water pump? i dont see one. Nice setup.
