reinstalling lower intake manifold

I'm putting my 87 T2 back together, and my RWS basic kit does not include two o-rings that look like should go around the coolant pass through between the LIM and the engine.
According to the haynes there should be o-rings here, but I don't have them, nor do I see any old ones laying around from when I pulled it apart, I'm using RTV to seal the manifold, should I just trust that to seal the pass through or wait for an o-ring to arrive?

what "flavor" of RTV are you using? Hi-temp red should work good, I've even used black & grey on gasket surfaces at cooling passages with no prob...wouldn't use white, though...

I have red, blue, and ultra black, can use any

however the red is rated to 650F so is the black. The red is a little runny so I'd probably use black

well, I used a small bead of red RTV around it and the coolant passages. Any bets on how long it holds? :(
