Rebuilding a T04b

Hey guys, so I have a T04b turbo and the turbine wheel is bent. I haven't taken it apart to figure out what else broke (if anything), but I want to fix that. I figured I would have to get it sent off to be rebuilt, but after seeing a few threads on it and a little bit a Google'ing I found that I could replace the turbine wheel for the cost of a new one which is like $10.

Anyways, when rebuilding a turbo do you need to replace anything besides what is apparently broken? I mean obviously the turbine wheel being bent is a bad, and whatever it sucked up could have damaged the compressor wheel too, and maybe bent the shaft (which as far as I understand comes with the turbine wheel anyways, so not a big deal). So, is there like seals or anything I need to buy? Or just the parts that are bent?

Thanks for taking a look

P.S. This is a little off-topic but related to my turbo and I don't really wanna make a new thread for it. I have one of these APEXI BOV: and the red thing is adjustable and if you read that page is says that it is an "adjustable sound outlet". Does that have anything to do with the performance of it, or does it just affect how loud you want the PSSHHH sound?

I'd replace the cartridge if the shaft bent as well.

$10 for a main shaft and turbine wheel(it's all one piece)? i want to know where you're buying parts!

I'll take a look at home, I might be confused. @Ben, do you do balancing?

So, as usual I was confused haha. The $10 thing was just the compressor wheel. The turbine shaft & wheel are about $60. Still not that bad. I would way rather just replace that and get it balanced instead of sending it off to get fully rebuilt for ~$350.

However, when I search for parts for it, it seems general you search by the Garrett serial number but I can't for the life of me find mine on a website... I can find serial numbers that are close, but not mine. I don't know if this is a big deal, or can I just find one with the right measurements? Though I don't exactly know what the measurements of mine are, nor am I exactly sure how you go about measuring it haha.

Thanks for the help

nope, the hybrids are balance matched but not high speed balanced. stock for stock mark the wheels before disassembly and they can be reassembled with stock balance if everything is in the same position.

even high speed balancing doesn't mean much to me unless it is done by a trusted shop, i have seen some turbos come out worse after balancing than if they were left unmolested.
