RE Amemiya FC2002 bumper is here! Replica on the way!

Hello people. We are going to make a replica of the RE Amemiya FC2002 bumper. The original one is here. Here are the photos:

http://www.rotaryextreme.com/newbodykit/refc-1.jpg

http://www.rotaryextreme.com/newbodykit/refc-2.jpg

http://www.rotaryextreme.com/newbodykit/refc-3.jpg

http://www.rotaryextreme.com/newbodykit/refc-4.jpg

http://www.rotaryextreme.com/newbodykit/refc-5.jpg

Here are the target prices:

bumper only: $650
bumper with Hella 90mm high/low beam, lens covers: $1000
Bumepr with Hella 90mm low beam HID, halogen high beam and lesn covers:$1500

I think it's a sweet deal. If you buy a East Bear light kit, it's already $625. For $375 more, you can have a true sleek light kit, a bumper, and much better German made Hella lighting. The best part is you can even have HID! I am going to use the same high quality components as on the Rotary Extreme headlight kit.

Please let me know if you guys are interested. Thank you.

Buizda 03-05-03 09:15 AM

I am very interested and could be in a position to pick one up this summer. Although seeing the end product fit and finish is a factor. Anyone able to post some pics of this installed on various cars/colors?

DomFD3S 03-05-03 09:20 AM

Chuck, do you have a price for "just" the lighting upgrade (w/ or w/o lens covers)? If so, that would be awesome.

rotaryextreme 03-05-03 09:40 AM

Actually the light kit is part of the bumper so I can't offer just the light kit by itself. Sorry man.

Chuck Huang

REFLUX 03-05-03 09:42 AM

Rotaryextreme: Would the HID kit use HID projectors (similar to those used in OEM applications)?
I'm looking for the HID brightness but also want the cutoff line so I don't blind everyone on the road

i'm interested as well but like Buizda said, anyone have pics of the finished product?

[YMMIJ] 03-05-03 09:59 AM

What's the retail on one of these kits?
Not dogging you or anything, but your price for the replica is not far from the price of the orginal.

please correct me if i'm wrong.

beside that i'm interested, how about a special price for pre-orders?

Poindexter10thae 03-05-03 10:09 AM

I want one with HID, put me down. Email is Peter_ccna@sbcglobal.net

The cost of the original with lights is $1680. so you will save aout 680 bucks if you go with the non hid package, and still get better lighting. and for 1500, you are getting the whole kit WITH HID. if you wanted to buy the re original you would pay 1680+ 650 for HID. got 650 from the Catz HID kit.

DomFD3S 03-05-03 10:11 AM

What if someone orders the standard lighting kit (w/ bumper of course), but down the line wishes to upgrade the lighting? Can you then provide the "upgraded" lighting?

rotaryextreme 03-05-03 10:39 AM

For Hella HID light pattern, please go to

http://www.rotaryextreme.com/sleeklight.html

It's a projector so it has a very sharp cut off point. I do the HID upgrade in house. There is not a retro fit HID kit for the H9 bulb Hella 90mm lights use. You can get the regular lights now and send the projectors back to me for HID upgrade later.

You mean if people get the regular halogen now and want to upgrade to HID later on? I usually do it for $600 like on the Rotary Extreme 3rd gen Sleek light kit but if you pre order the bumper, I will do it for $500.

DomFD3S 03-05-03 10:50 AM

Cool.

rotaryextreme 03-05-03 10:52 AM

I am actually giving the FC people a big discount already. I sell the 3rd Gen sleek light kit for $850 and I have sold at least 60 of them and they are always on back order. I can't keep up with the demand. So if you compare that to the 3rd gen sleek light kit, you are only paying $150 for the bumper.

I know FD people are probalby going to be bitching at me for doing this but I really want to get into the FC3S market. You should notice not too many US vendors are coming out with new products for the FC. I am trying hard to give you guys the latest and newest product but yes, I do need to make a profit to stay in business and that's why my company is the fastest growing one right now. I have at least one new product coming out every month.

If you want to buy the original one, I can import you one too. We have a container coming in almost every month. But you have to realize the light kit that comes with the original RE Amemiya FC bumper is the same junk one as on the RE Amemiya 1st generation 3rd gen sleek light kit. You can't see anything on the road.

I don't like to sell or make stuff that does not have any kind of improvement over the original, either on price or quality. I can throw in some cheap fog lights and lower the price by $100-200 but then that will ruin my reputation. I rather make something better and charge more than making some cheap products and getting a bad rep.

That's why I offer it without the headlight kit for $650. If you are on a budget, you can get other kind of lights and put in there. Thank you.

some pix of the Hella HID:

http://www.rotaryextreme.com/product...ightbeam-3.jpg

You are getting the same Hella HID as on the 3rd gen headlight. You can expect the same kind of lighting. I have an HID video clip. Go to

http://www.steveprew.com/~rextreme/HID1.avi

to see it.

I can guarantee you it will be the best purchase you will ever make for your FC, exterior wise and lighting performance. You will come back and thank me too. =)

ABOUT TIME :D

J/k man, but in all honesty I love your work!! Those V setups for the radiator\intercooler for the FD is sweet!! *hint*!!

The Amemiya bumper is on my wish list, but not now, maybe within a year. I just don't want to say ME ME ME ME and leave you hanging!!

Thanks man!

RylAssassin 03-05-03 11:53 AM

WOW very nice quality, the bumber looks really good, im defenetly going to consider that for the summer. I really appriciate the FC support you are giving us for aftermarket parts cuz there simply is way too little out there for our cars, and making a market for our cars can only benefit the FC owners.
Great work man and keep it up, ill check out your websight asap and tell ppl about it thanks again.

Crionics 03-05-03 11:57 AM

Must...find...bank...

I will prolly buy something like this after college, but not right now...It's a very nice looking setup too. the FC body isn't that dated, but anything to make it look better ;)

nillahcaz 03-05-03 12:05 PM

I'll get the HID one some day, maby Octoberish

vaughnc 03-05-03 12:35 PM

Can you copy the entire kit ??

Also, be sure to "modify/enhance" the kit enough to be original & not get in trouble with RE Amemiya.

In fact, you might consider how much RE would charge to be a reseller in the US (ie they're made here to save shipping costs).

Hope this help :)

Gene 03-05-03 12:45 PM

An chance of that hood being available? I'm sure you'd sell a few...

Rotorific 03-05-03 04:05 PM

What would be the price of a bumper and the lens covers?

cleung15 03-05-03 04:22 PM

I am in for a HID kit

Please add me into your contact list cleung15@hotmail.com

I am interested in the HID full kit. I was almost ready to put my down payment to the real one last weekend. I am glad I see your offerring. Also, how about the 2002 hood and side skirt. Please let me know because I want to order the whole kit, at least the front conversion and side skirts. Thanks.

Carson

osiris7 03-05-03 04:38 PM

how is the fitment on this kit..would there be any fabrications or is it just bolt on??

kep0ne 03-05-03 04:49 PM

i would be EXTREMELY interested in this kit w/ an HID conversion (this includes ballasts right)...1500 is a GREAT deal.

hopefully this goes well, and we see these products soon.

how bout those front fenders? any chance you'd replicate that?

please add me to the contact list kep0ne@yahoo.com

RotaryWeaponSE7EN 03-05-03 05:39 PM

Will you guys offer the carbonfiber winglets also or not?

BDoty311 03-05-03 05:56 PM

Will you guys offer the carbonfiber winglets also or not?
I would probably buy those if someone made them.

Liquid Anarchy 03-05-03 06:11 PM

no no no

Not Winglets, CANARDS ;)

rotaryextreme 03-05-03 06:24 PM

new info

I can't give a definite price on the bumper with just the lens covers at this time. The covers are not done Until it's done, I don't know how much it's going to cost me but my guess is $725.

I can make copies of the sideskirts, hood, and carbon fiber splitters but I need to get 10 prepaid buyers before I do that.

The RE sideskirts aren't that expensive to begin with. You are looking at $550-600 a set shipped to you. It kind of makes no sense to make copies of them if they are already so cheap. I can set up a group buy on those and I just import them at once. Give RE Amemiya more business too.

The CF splitters cost more though. They are $400 a set. I can have those done for $250.

The fenders on the RE car is a one off. They don't sell it. But I can have one made just like that using the Panspeed fender flares and molded it on the stock fenders.

Anyways, the bottomline is that I will make copies of this bumper no matter what but if you guys want more parts on that RE Amemiya car, I need to get enough people on it and prepay before I import the stuff.

Thank you.

PPC-Racing 03-05-03 07:17 PM

I'd take one with HID BUT:...

I'd like this to be done with S-Glass and epoxy perferably an EAST or MGS system resin, w/ med. cure hardener

NOT cheap H-Glass and polyester resin.. ( total materials cost would end up being $35 )

Oh and I can make those canards in CF for $250 Canadian if you'd like..

koukifc3s 03-05-03 07:32 PM

How long are those gonna be available for?

thx

Scott 89t2 03-05-03 07:52 PM

make that hood :)

I am intersted. keep me informed please, I LOVE...I mean LOVE that kit

[YMMIJ] 03-05-03 11:51 PM

ok you got me there, i'm interested.

All in favour of a bigger opening where the front mount sits?

If you can open it up abit i'd be a definate!

also, what color are the lenses?
i would like clear lenses, keep the pigs off my back :)

Liquid Anarchy 03-06-03 12:00 AM

... if the fenders on the FC2000 were a one-off, then why are they offered in RE-A's catalog?

Driftfc3s 03-06-03 12:02 AM

Wow, rotaryextreme, you amaze me. Ever since the FC2000 kit came out, all i ever read on this board was, "I want it, but it's too expensive, someone should make a copy". At the same time, i'm thinkin, who in their right mind would copy a bodykit for such an old car? FC's aren't exactly as abundant as say, a honda civic. But you have heard our prayers , and answered them. FINALLY, someone out there with the know-how is helping out the FC3S community in a big way. I must applaud your decision to offer the FC more options of body tuning here in the SUV-laden states.

I know you're just now working on this project, but I must ask, do you think you'll ever make a copy of the GP Sports G-four kit for the FC as well? I like the FC2000 kit, but I prefer the flip-up headlights and the general lines of the GP kit.

Good luck on the FC2000 kit.

Driftfc3s 03-06-03 12:04 AM

oh and BTW, how much would the GP front bumper and sides cost? I see that you are now importing these pieces................

SpeedyRotary 03-06-03 12:13 AM

You never mentioned if it's bolt on or if you would have do do slight modification to make it fit???? Also VERY nice work man, you are amazing. :D

Digi7ech 03-06-03 01:03 AM

mmmmmmmm..
Drooools......................
I want the amemiya kit. I really like the hood.
The light styling is great.

I'm gonna buy the 3rd gen version.Although it's only 1/32 scale and a model, :) damn I need money.

ARD T2 03-06-03 02:31 AM

When will these be available Chuck???

thanks, Rishie

dragonfenix 03-06-03 06:38 AM

like jacobcartmill said, what exactly is "bumper only"?

banzaitoyota 03-06-03 09:04 AM

Is the any plan to re-issue te GTC Bumper? Were the mold /fitment issues resolved?

wptrx7 03-06-03 10:54 AM

for the preorder do you want all of the money upfront or can i put half now and half when they are done. and to protect your investmment i will agree (if i back out ) to leave the money as store credit only. and how long before they its released (done)?

ECKO1980 03-06-03 11:54 AM

Put me on your contact List ECKO1980@hotmail.com
I would like to see what the finished product looks like but if fit and finish are good I would like to buy a complete one with out HID in a couple months of them being released. Can you still buy your GTC style bumper?? I didnt see it on the web site any more?? :(

Not pickin on your or anything... :) but for those who havent noticed, the opening necks down as it goes back... i believe it is 23" x 8-9", but for those who have the new GReddy front mount, you will have to cut part of that away anyway... so by the time you cut it to sit flush to your IC, it will be probably around 24x 10" which is almost the exact size of the ic. I had Alf do some measurements on his last year when i was going to import one through Chuck, because my ic is mounted way up front just like the GReddy unit.

And the lenses are clear... they just have a blue sticky plastic cover to protect them from being scratched in shipping/install, right Chuck?

Node 03-06-03 04:37 PM

You guys realize that its only $1000 from RE Amemiya?
But you still have to get it shipped.
And Soul Assassin said that the bumper came with lights.

Node 03-06-03 04:40 PM

SpeedyRotary: I think its bolt on for S5, not sure if anything has to be modified for the series 4 FC's

rotaryextreme 03-06-03 05:11 PM

1. Bumper only: $650....The headlight housings are part of the bumper. So bumper only still comes with those headlight housings. I am going to sell those Lexan covers separately for $75 and it will be clear, not blue. The blue on the original RE bumper is just a film. The covers are clear after you peel it off.

2. bumper with lights and lexan covers: $1000...It means you will get everything: bumper, Hella 90mm high/low beams, lexan covers.

3. bumper with HID low beam, high beam, and lexan cover: $1500.... It means you will get the bumper, HID hella low beam and halogen Hella high beam, and lexan covers

The picture shows the orignal RE bumper. It uses the cheap quality IPF lights. We are going to use high quaility projector low beam Hella lights and same high quality Hella high beam. Everything is made in Germany.

If you want larger mouth, you will have to cut it larger yourself and do some fiberglass and bondo bodywork. I can't really do that without making a new mold. Sorry about it.
