You mean the reg tag?

HoustonMS3 04-07-11 04:34 PM

*I meant to use "their" in that last post*

I'm not sure how it is in CA , but it Texas there is just one inspection sticker and whether or not they test emissions varies from county to county. The charge is $50, but some guys will just run the smog test on their civic and pass your car for a $50 "tip".

RB Rev II is available for $825 and CS for $630, that's not a big price difference so I guess its just a matter of personal preference.

The difference though, is that most Honda's with cannisters DO sound like shit. Thats because they are cheap mufflers with cheap and shitty installs. To me, an Rx-7 with a cannister muffler system like the Corksport or an Apexi may be loud but in no way does it sound like shit.

And the price difference is right under $200 (not to mention the addition of shipping, which will be more for the RB because of weight and size). Thats a decent chunk of change that could be spent on other parts or anything really.

HoustonMS3 04-07-11 04:55 PM

Actually, I paid 825 total that's with free shipping. With cs's shipping that brings it to about 125 dif, which is nothing for something that will be one of the most seen things on your car probably for the rest of its life. Its just a taste in style, do what makes you happy.

Linguo415 04-07-11 07:35 PM

I'm thinking about the cat delete. Besides the air pump being removed and blocking the passage what else is there to do when removing the cat? Where do you even get a block off plate for the airpump passage to the cat from?

dimitry04 04-07-11 10:13 PM

ok so wait.. im really considering redoing my exhaust entirely. with the RB stuff. header and presilencer and cat back. i have 87 n/a, you guys are all talking bout having to change stuff.. or remove stuff. or is that just for a turbo and not the n/a?

HoustonMS3 04-07-11 10:41 PM

The tube going to the cat from the LIM is the slit air pipe, there are a few people that sell kits that include that and the air control valve block off plate. Banzai is where I got mine (thanks for the free candy...).

It's not hard at all, but I would search emissions removal before starting.

Once again, matter of opinion, but dual apexi is the way to go with canisters on an FC.

theres no cat on mine right now. the kid before me tied the little tube in somewhere down the line.

So the split air tube is still used even when the cat is deleted? Sorry I'm confused now.

I have to agree with yoi on N1 dual. I love the look and sound but again. For that price I feel I can custome build something that will sound similar and weigh less.

Do you know anything about the car in this pic? What size are those tires? Complete off topic but I have to ask. Serious boner!

Linguo415 04-08-11 12:00 AM

Also my engine is being rebuild as we speak. Is it ok to break the engine in with no cat on and not going into boost? I've also ported my turbo wate gate. I'm S5.

gameover2145 04-08-11 07:29 AM

I love the N1 duals, I think they are great. Just so damned expensive. I wish someone like Corksport would make a cheaper alternative

dimitry04 04-08-11 09:13 AM

at least i believe its the split air tube you guys are talking about. its another tube running along the exhaust a majority of the way and then connects in somewhere. i have no idea. long story short. the kid who did it was a total retard and shouldnt own a car...

Where did you get RB REV TII for $825?!?!

HoustonMS3 04-08-11 01:30 PM

protegegarage , although I have nothing positive to say about their customer service or business dealings.

randyb 04-08-11 01:39 PM

i have had a corksport single and a racing beat setup, all i can say is that i had the corksport for about a week before i sold it. the racing beat looks slick and sounds respectable when cruising. it is even better when you really put your foot into it

Linguo415 04-09-11 01:10 AM

I wish someone made a N1 replica for less. I'd get it so fast!

I agree, I just don't think that would look good on the car and the single is the way to go.

FC3S_nataku 04-09-11 09:38 AM

can someone list off the catbacks that are drivers sider exit? thanks

Linguo415 04-09-11 01:47 PM

I only know

^Corks sports power series

Apexi GT spec

Apexi N1

greddy has the power extreme but I'm not sure what side the canister is on.

FirebirdSlayer666 04-11-11 01:10 AM

The Power Extreme is a dual exit set up. At one point the off brands om eBay had a dual N1 set up for around $550 with free shipping, that's the full turbo back exhaust. Haven't seen them in a few months though

HoustonMS3 04-11-11 08:00 AM

It was exhaust from Top Speed Pro 1 out of Dallas. They make ( or made) a single and dual exhaust, fitment seemed shitty in the one pic I saw but it could of just been from bad hangers.

Tube with flanges for what, the split air pipe?

No just to connect it to the rest of te exhaust since what I have now is all one welded piece. Its so annoying to take off and put back on. Im getting a new engine soon and i want to make it as easy as possible.
