I have seen the CF panels at Sevenstock and most of the people complained about it warping... so i wouldnt recommend CF Rad Panels.. ... that is why i use good Marine Aircraft Grade 6061 T6 Aluminum .063 thickness...CNC cut it has a nice finish and it doesnt warp and at $93.00 shipped.. its a great deal.

Agent_D 04-19-06 12:01 PM

haha wow xochi, you went from .090 thickness in your previous post to .063 thickness, good job

Jager 04-19-06 01:49 PM

I'll nearly take it.

Do you have a company?

Digi7ech 04-19-06 02:25 PM

I made my own for about $25.

Went to Ace hardware and bought some plexiglass and used a dremil.

Very easy to make fit because it's clear so you can see where you need to trim.

I then painted the bottom side/ This gives it nice painted look with the plastic acting as a large clear coat.

BoostedRex 04-19-06 05:24 PM

Xochi, I understand the concern of them warping. But in all honesty, that only happens when lower quality materials are used. I can gaurantee that the 5one5 panels will not warp. Several people on this forum can vouch for the quality of the 5one5 Innovations products.

I personally prefer the signal racing one because it is made with bends furthering stiffening the aluminum sheet and making sure that it will not flex but that's just me ;)

My cousin is an ex Aircraft Structural Mechanic and worked for both Pan Am and American Airlines... he is the one that manufactures these pieces and said that the prior panels were made from .090 2024 T4 Aluminum whereas the new ones are made from 6061 T6 so .063 works best.. its a stronger more durable treated Aluminum... so do the math and do your homework... look it up and you will see the advantages. So who is laughing now.. I can understand when you dont know you make stupid remarks... so lets move on.

You are right that with bends or holes it will also strengthen the panel... but it's not necessary to have the bends on it because the panels that i have sit flat and all i had to do is relocate the radiator overflow tank to where the stock airbox used to be... plus my panels are made of 6061 T6 which is plenty strong at .063 thickness...

The nest option upwardly in strength would be 7075 T8 at .050 or even Stainless Steel at .032

As the strength increases the thickness decreases... it takes longer time to cut the stronger material... the CNC cuts clean and the Cleanedge Waterjet cuts the best. Like the custom chopper wheels on the show AMERICAN CHOPPERS.

Agent_D 04-24-06 12:13 PM

haha you should read your own posts before calling others stupid, your original post said marine grade aluminum at .090 thickness, you did not specify the type of material, so calling me stupid when you didnt specify it was a different metal just shows how you like to do business, just like that thread with the lambo doors.

i dont see how it could flex in there, once the hood is closed it nearly sits on top of the panel cover doesnt it?? and its not like its hold anything in place, the only thing hitting it really would be air and i dont see it moving/flexing much if at all.

First ... why are you trying to include others when I only referred to one person as being stupid with their remarks... and guess who that is ? YOU

Marine grade ? Its relatively the same... when the drops are purchased it is the name given .. so people who really know can identify with it and those like yourself cant... The panel is bolted down in the aft section wheras the fwd section is snug with the rubber seals and knobs.. a flimsy panel will chatter whereas these do not.. they sit nice and snug... you are getting way too technical and its not even necessary unless you have had experience in this area or you just buy the shit because you think it looks good. The Lambo doors have been selling pretty well.. since they are actual bolt on kits.

I only used the best CF on the market whick has been documented from day one and 4x4 5.7 oz twill will not warp. Plus its bolted down!
Moral of the story is you can use anything you want and it doesn not have to be super strong it just has to force air through the rad and not up over the top of it.

Also the stuff you saw at seven stock was from mexico and made out of dogshit CF. I won't mention any company names that sells that crap but its documented here on this forum.

BoostedRex 04-24-06 02:11 PM

Bukwild, gee I wonder who you're talking about? :)

Xochi, with an attitude like that you're going to lose a lot of potential customers. You were really coming off as an ass there. For all I know you might be the nicest guy in the world with a TON of knowledge, but phrasing things the way you did will give people the wrong idea about you. I'm only saying this because I know how it is since I sell products too. Take out of it what you will.

Zach,

I have been attacked on numerous ocassions over the Lambo doors and today was no exception. I simply changed the type of aluminum that is now being used and the thickness... if anyone knows about the strength in material then its not necessary for the thickness to increase. I simply posted and Agent_D wrote:

So what ? I went from 2024 T4 to 6061 T6.. much better option.... to add injury to insult.. Agent_D had to bring up the Lambo Doors issue up again. I am just supposed to let him slap me in the face just because I am a seller ?

I am just simply trying to sell a product that someone else paid over $110.00 when i offered it for $93.00 shipped... Can't beat that. I am not going to continue going back and forth with this... no more hostility .. no more negative comments... its a great product and of good quality.

Xavier,

I hear ya. And your radiator panel does look good. I will still advertise mine for those people who want one made of top quality CF. Best of luck to you with your business. I do hope that sales keep coming in for you bro.

Zach

XAVIER UK 04-24-06 03:50 PM

thanks bro

Agent_D 04-24-06 05:20 PM

its not the fact of the lambo doors, or the panel, you didnt state that it was originally T4, and that the metal went from T4 to T6.

i could care less about the lambo doors. the fact that you as a seller are acting this way proves how you deal with customers, you posted that black magic e-fan for sale, i told you i'd buy it and you totally skipped over me and didnt bother answering, no pm, or reply to the thread. i simply think that sellers like you shouldn't be allowed to do business on here.

RotaryEvolution 04-24-06 05:24 PM

it really doesn't take much to make one yourself. i had to make one myself due to the mid mount intercooler but it only takes about an hour of time and costs about $30 for sheet aluminum.

XAVIER UK 04-26-06 12:40 AM

AgentD

I really dont like PM's.... I prefer emails.... navigating from a thread to a PM and then back lacks fluidity so i really dont like to use it... it happens sometimes that i just dont get to all the PM's.. but if anyone sends me an email to: xochifuquarx7@yahoo.com I can check it all day and respond right away... I sold the black magic fan to a guy in San Diego, CA. It just so happened that he emailed me...

XAVIER UK 04-26-06 12:40 AM

$89.00 shipped.....

XAVIER UK 04-26-06 10:02 AM

AgentD..

I checked my PM's and you didnt send me a PM at all.... if you posted on the thread I probably didnt look at it... as I mentioned before I prefer emails... plus I am always logged on so you could have sent me an instant message to MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger or AIM...

If you still want the fan then i have one for you... its $99.00 plus shipping and its better than the Black Magic one... this one covers your radiator completely and spins about 3000 cfm.. easy simple to install

Here is a pic:

thats a ford taurus/escort fan. I had one just like it. It also has three speeds. Hi speed makes it sound like a jet. Not really sure it it flows 3000cfm because I had to take it off and go back to the stock clutch fan when i put on the greddy FMIC because I was running too hot.

Correction: Its not a ford taurus/escort fan... not even close to the same family. It was based on a Heavy Duty Hi Performance vehicle that requires cooling. It only has two speeds. It does flow above 3000 cfm. Your running hot issues must have been attributable to some other factors. I have sold many of these fans and I have had many praises on its performance.
