Quick question
Install BRAND NEW plugs. Make a pass or two down the strip. Pull the plugs. If the ceramic has a really light-tan or whitish ash on it, you're too lean. At least, that's how it goes for boingers.
Another way to tell is if you're hauling *** and the motor suddenly loses power, from a chucked apex seal...
If you hear a pinging sound at high load, you're too lean. Based on your listed mods, though, you should be okay.

Put a digital multimeter on the output(input) wire of the oxygen sensor, at the ECU, and read it while driving. Go to this site http://www.autometer.com/hp/index.html Look under faq/tech and you'll find articles about o2 sensors and it will tell you what is lean, stoic, and rich. I'd tell you which wire, but as I write this I do not remember what year car you have. If you do not have access to that info, write back and we'll let you know.

I see you have a 88 model. The o2 wire is located on the second largest plug on your ECU, and if your looking towards the ECU, it is on the bottom row, second one over from the right, gray in color. If yours is not gray in color then your on the wrong plug or counting from the wrong end. ECU is under the passengers feet, ***** of their toes. You know that, but what if some else did not.

Its doubtful that your na is runnng lean. Very doubtful. Lean is mostly a fear of turbo owners.

Thanks for the info guys. I was just wondering, cause I had the exhaust off the other day, and the inner part of the manifold wasn't black, it was more of a light burnt rust color. Kinda tan. Just wanted to know if this was normal. Also, does anyone know how to control the backfiring while shifting. Kinda bugs me a little.
YEOLDPRIRATE.....The backfiring.....There was (you removed yours) a feature in the acv that was supposed to help prevent backfiring, called a antiafterburn valve I believe. Outside of that I can't help.
