question about Jspec Automatic ECU?
Ok, I searched & learned a few things, but still have questions.
I'm building an NA to TII swap with a Jspec 13BT and 5 speed transmission.. I've been having some troubles finding an ECU, AFM and Boost Sensor. Recently someone offered me an ECU, AFM and Boost sensor from a Jspec TII with an Automatic transmission. what I want to know is,.. Will these parts work for me? Will it affect my fuel map or torque curve? Does the Jspec ECU have a speed limiter at 112mph? Is there anyway to disable the speed limiter? Should I just hold out for Aspec? |
Is thiseBay knightsport chip legit?
look where it says "No Rev Limit" do you think they mean no speed limiter for the N374? http://offer.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/...tem=7988387358 |
im not sure about the speed limiter, it will probably still have a speed limit(since this is ONLY a "performance" chip, not a top speed limiter removal)
but as for the chip, i wouldnt go for it. i dont trust those cheap $15 chips. SOME MAY work, but some just dont do a damn thing.some people say that those chips add something like 5-7 hp, but i cant say for myself. |

Yeah, its probly another ploy to sell .29cent resistors..

but I'm wondering is the ECU, from a Jspec Automatic is the same as one from a Jspec 5-speed? I didn't really see that brought up in that conversation. |
yes, those parts will work. automatic tranny ECU and parts wont make a difference.
I bought one of those chips on ebay several years back for my integra. It was specifically for my ecu though PR3. It worked well and made a difference. I'm not sure about this one though. I think someone actually tried one, but you'll have to search. Otherwise, if your not gonna buy the chip, dont worry b/c it will work. fuel maps are the same, i'm not sure about the speed cut though. There migh be a way but i dunno. not much different for the ASPEC other than the speed cut on the JSPEC. |

The speed limiter is in the dash for the jspec FC, not the ecu. Although im sure it ties into the ecu, all you have to do is break the circuit (removal of conductive bolt on the PCB for the jspec gauge's) to remove speed limiting. |
The speed limiter in the J-spec ECU takes an input from the 180km/h switch in the J-spec cluster's speedo. No J-spec cluster, no speed limiter. :)

Ok,
Thanks :bigthumb: |
Who cares? :)
Why not go aftermarket stand-alone EMS? -Ted |
^Cause of the cost :bigthumb: I'd give away my first born for a E6X

You'll note that it says "KNIGHT SPORT SPEC ROM" in the description.
All that means is that the guy got one real KnightSports chip and an EPROM burner and decided to make himself a shitload of copies for next to nothing. What you are getting is going to be identical to the real KnightSports chip but it is still a knockoff. If that doesn't keep you up at night, then go for it. |
