Problems with the ol rx-7

 hey every one this is my first time posting a thread i hope some one can help me.

I'm having a problem with my acceleration once i hit 3500rpm and i smash the pedal down i get nothing but when i barely touch the accelerater i can go past 3500 what is up with this thing? My car stays at the same rpm and speed but i hear a winding coming from under the hood.

Please some on tell me what the hell is wrong with this thing.

I also have a nasty vibration that seems to be coming from the rear when i'm going any where inbetween 55-90. But the vibration stops once i hit lower or higher then that. Especially when i'm going 100+ it rides a like a dream. :bigthumb:

does it go anywhere after a second or two?
if so its a common hesiaion prob.
check your grounds

Oltymer 11-20-04 03:01 PM

yeah it hesitates in first and second but still doesn't go any where

Oltymer 11-20-04 03:03 PM

i have chatter in my clutch as well but i haven't had the time to get into it and check it. but i think its because the guy that sold me the car put the clutch in him self and never resurfaced the pressure plate

foild 11-20-04 03:05 PM

ahh.. its your clutch slippng..
he obviously messed up installing it... or it is a really shitty clutch

Oltymer 11-20-04 03:07 PM

ok so i'll make that my first thing on my too do list but its a stage three clutch it should be good clutch just stupid guy that put it in

foild 11-20-04 03:09 PM

yeah.. definatly something to check out.

Oltymer 11-20-04 03:10 PM

Other than the clutch and grounds what should i be looking for?

Could my radiator play a part in it hesitating?
This is my first 7 so i've never dealt with this type of engine before and i don't really know its boundries and limits.

foild 11-20-04 03:11 PM

and the vibration could be a exhaust heat shield

Oltymer 11-20-04 03:13 PM

ahh that makes sense.
