Problems with dash lights... :(

Today took my 7 out for a short spin. Noticed my Emergency Brake light would not go out in the dash. Even though it was completly down and the car was rolling freely. Anyone know whats going on?

Also on the dash lights everytime i turn my key i can see all the lights except the one on the top 2nd over from the right.. Anyone know if this is bad, or nothing to worry about?

Its a 1990 GXL...

Thanks

I'm not sure, but I think that the brake light staying on indicates low brake fluid in the reservoir.

"2nd top over from the right"???

i own a 1986 gxl. all warning lights come on except for handbrake one when i turn the key. the light u describe(top, 2nd from the right) says 'STOP' when i turn my key. i have no idea what this is for.

there is a small switch attatched to the base of the handbrake which detects if ur brake is up. it works by grounding a wire connected to ur light when u pull the brake up. if the switch is making a connection and grounding the circuit, ur light will fail to turn off. u may need to adjust the screw on the switch, or replace/repair/modify the switch assembly. the easiest way would be to snip the wire... unless u need to be reminded to puit ur handbrake down.

The Stop indicator is for burnt out brake lights on a S4

The brake indicator is for either low fluid in the brake master cyl or the parking brake is on.

OK, so i understand why my brake light is on...
What about this "stop" light...????
It NEVER comes on.. Not even when i start my car up. Everything turns on EXCEPT this "STOP" light..
Could someone tell me if i should fix it, or just leave it or what to do?

Thanks
