What kind of battery voltage are you seeing at idle and what voltage while driving? This could possibly be an alternator problem.

Voltage should be running. 13 to 14 v

P.S. - If you need a new alternator... Look into the 130A Ford Taurus alternator swap in the FAQ sticky. ;-) |

my car has a bonez super flow cat on it with stock down pipe and y-pipe and mufflers.
my alt ranges from 10-13. engine off but power on it sits at 10. car on at idle 11-13 verys on if the head lights are on |
Doesn't sound too bad. According to the FSM, alternator output test (at hot) should show 13.5V. This is factory, though... Your car is 23 years old.
Just for shits, get it tested at an auto parts store... Most stores do this for free. Before you replace your alternator (IF you have to) consider the 130A Ford Taurus alternator. I run this alternator with absolute perfect voltage, and no issues whatsoever. Only problem is... This superior alternator will not fit under the stock top mount intercooler. https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...rus+alternator https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...rus+alternator |
