power loss???????

I put an engine w/ 3000mi. on it in my 91. I drove the first 500mi. following the break in procedure. Now at full throtle at about 6200 rpm i get a power loss. Its like the engine bogs down. I have tried it at about 65% throtle and it smooths out around 6700rpm then looses power again at 7000. Also my transmission is running very hot. It could burn if touched after being fun ofr about 15 mins. Is it normal ofr it to be that hot? because i dont remeber my 88 running that hot. Anyone have ne ideas. Anything will help. Thax.

Are you talking about your shifter warming up? Mine does that under normal driving conditions. Gets really hot.

As for the power loss...... Is it more than just being past the power band?

Ya my shifter gets very hot under normal conditions. As does my floor and center console. But i shouldnt be beyond the power band at 6200 rpm. Most the power should be made between 6000 and 8200rpm. And that is exactly the area where i have no power.

Check your fuel injectors, have you had them professionally cleaned? My car stopped accelerating at 6K in 4th gear ('88 TII) when it should have blasted through there, I'm assuming not enough fuel.

I had the injectors blue printed by rc engineering. So they should be good still. Ne other ideas
