Nice car.... I want....
But why does it still have a hood scoop? no longer a TMIC...??

kabooski 05-09-02 08:15 PM

cause it is a TII

autocrash 05-09-02 08:19 PM

umm... well... yeah.... but why keep the hood... when I swap I'm gonna keep a N/A hood on it...

autocrash 05-09-02 08:19 PM

ooh... thought.... clearance issues with the 13B-REW?

because the hood is what seperates the men from the boys. ;) j/k! The hood is beautiful. And it doesnt function like you think, the air is forced in through the cowl and then exhausted out the front of the scoop. It might even drop the hood temps a bit.

vosko 05-09-02 08:23 PM

looks like it belongs there :D

Turbo Timmy 05-09-02 08:28 PM

That looks like my car only mine is nicer ;)

you can bolt the 3rd gen intake on with an adapter... I'm gonna do it eventually after I go Haltech :D

kabooski 05-09-02 08:40 PM

why put a heavy N/A hood
the 1st thing N/A thieves take when they steal a TII
is the Hood

I've had several attemps to steal my hood
and I know it was N/A guys

dre_2ooo 05-09-02 08:51 PM

Just curious, i dont have a TII so i've never really seen the hood in action, per say. But it looks like water would get into the engine bay..... how does it work?

Liquid Anarchy 05-09-02 10:16 PM

Series 4 Mirrors, Series 4 Trim, Looks like a series 4 with an FD intake, and a FMIC to me... woopity doo.

E6KT2 05-09-02 10:29 PM

Don't make me....

13B-REW *cough*

Liquid Anarchy 05-09-02 11:01 PM

Sorry, but other than the upper intake manifold, I'm not seeing where you'd identify that as a 13B-REW. And even so, it seems to me that'd be a S4 with a swap, over a S6. I mean, why would Mazda DOWNGRADE their trim package and nose?

Liquid Anarchy 05-09-02 11:05 PM

Vaugn, any better pics of the ENGINE, I'd love to see a nice TT shot.

Node 05-10-02 12:17 AM

He means S6 engine in a TII.
To my knowledge you can only put the Upper and Lower Intake Mani's on S5 engines, and not on S4's. So it'd either have to be
A) A 13B-REW
B) An S5 13BT w/ REW upper and lower intake mani's.
The S5 is more alike internally to the S6 engine, than it is to is 13BT brother, the S4.

gotorx7 05-10-02 12:18 AM

That's not standard..... it's a transplant...

Where did you get the pix from - I'll try and find out more about the car, seeing as it's from my neighbourhood.....

The fact that we drive on the correct side of the road helps, also :lol

Hey you TII guys that hood sucks. Well not really sucks but its overrated. I have a 90 TII and the hood is the first part to go. I did a vent on an aluminun N/A and I noticed a HUGE diffrence in cooling temps. Ever notice Option videos, most of the cars have vented hoods not scoops. Gonna pic up a alum. NA tomorrow, straight trade. Who cares about extra drag anyways?

Hard to say initially from those pics...
The dead give away on an FD UIM retrofit is the ACV on the outside of the LIM - the stock FD ACV is on the INSIDE of the LIM.

The thermostat housing is all FC - this makes me suspect it's just an FD UIM retrofit.&nbsp The stock water pump housing uses that weird AST section that looks nothing like an FC thermostat housing design.

i am pretty sure that was is from WA. i saw it on a webpage a few years back, its a S6 motor with a S4/5 front cover/water pump etc etc on it to make it all a nicer install.

I have a German plate upstairs in my attic... does that mean I can throw them on my FC and be from Fulda, Germany?

Icemark 05-10-02 09:49 AM

Sure wish I could get those Series 4 euro/AUS turn signal lenses.

Anybody in AUS or NZ want to trade a set?
