Pics: I finally painted my RE Cowl!
 

This paint job is just temp for the winter.
In the spring I am going to paint the whole car.
Keeping it black base coat but putting a twist in the clear coat.

Anyway what do you guys think?

Be carefull if you ever take the car to be washed by someone else. My friend took his to a car wash and they put to much pressure on the lense and they broke it.

Yeah it's the RE Amemiya FC Full Cowl Pro.
I bought it from Inukai-san a driver for Mr Amemiya.
He brought it over from Japan I picked it up in San Fransisco.

It wasn't 2k it was around $1400.

Yeah mines from Japan also.
Usaully it is around 2k but I got free shipping because I knew Inukai and he had extra room in his container from Japan.

Man someone beat me to the black FC with FC Cowl :)
Oh well. I'm changing the color a bit in the spring.

I hope you have another car as a daiy driver, because my friends car no longer looks like in those pics. When You spend so much money on a kit and paint job, I think it should only be drven on the weekends

Nope my Daily Driver is my T2.
I wouldn't want to drive anything else.

I have a good friend who is a body work guy from Japan so paint and body work is free, just cost of materials.

does anyone have inukai's contact info like email or a cell number? ive been wanting to get that bumper for soooo long, its just that ive been working my butt off to get some money saved up, not only the bumper, but i also want the other RE stuff for the FC.

I like the hell out of the RE front end- but I think I'll have to pop for the copy that Rotary Extreme has- a bit cheaper, and no killer shipping charge.

I'll try to get his email his old one doesn't work anymore. Plus since you are in CA you could pickup from west coast shipping point.

edomund, I think it looks great, but I have a request. I've been trying to find a pic of a side shot of this kit. I thought I found one awhile back and I was a little disturbed by what the kit did to the body lines, but I can't find the pic again to verify.

anyway, take a side shot of your car. Not a 3/4 like you did, an actual 90* side shot.

only thing i don't like about this kit, is the headlight lenses. They look out of place for some reason to me the way they fit. I think a black ring around the edge would make them look alot more stock. Anyone know what i mean?

Nice. I don't usually like body modifications, but that looks great :)

Ya I like the way the RE kit improves on the body lines but keeps the feel of the car. Just cleans up all the turn lenses and such.

I know what you mean about the black ring, the RE FD kit has what your talking about and it looks nice.
I am thinking of having a custom glass shop make me some.

I'll take a 90 degree pic. I dont have the side skirts so it doesn't look quite right yet. I'm getting the side skirts in a while.

As far as the body lines being ruined, no way this kit totally keeps the factory body lines. It's just lower than the side line of the car so you need the side skirts to make it look right.

dude, if you can photoshop it, you can resize it small enough to attach it here.. just post it.

Looks good. Hows the fitment on a S4? They always say its meant for S5s is why I ask.

And I plan on getting the same one. My car is silver, but I'm going to paint the inside part around the headlights flat black I think and tint the plexiglass slightly.

looks somewhat like this, black tempered part of the glass might look better a little wider, but to give you the idea.

exactly ruff, they look out of place, they look like they weren't meant to be there almost. Or even if the glass was tinted a very very small amount.

Thats exactly how they look on the FD kit. (tinted edge and it looks good)

As far as fitment on the s4 you have to do a lot of fabbing to get it to work. You have to do cutting to somethings and move the bumper up and cut for the fog light holes. You'll figure it out it's not too hard just takes time fitting it then pulling it to cut. If you have any questions once you get it PM me.

I think 17s are perfect. Not too big, not too small. But right now I'm actually feeling the 15" vert wheels with not center caps :)

Why would I go 18?
Like ride said 17 is perfect it's a plus 1 from stock.

18's are heavier and I like a little more tire than you get with a 18 (I'm talking about tallness)

I bought this car 2 years ago and just drove it for the first time about a month ago! These are the first pics I posted of it as well.
I was wainting to kinda unveil it :)

I bought the car for 500 bucks with blown motor and fire damge and nursed it back to health and what it is today.

Im the owner of the Black Turbo 2 with the RE FC 2000 under Luiml73's pics, and like he said I bought that kit at the end of 2 years ago at $2,000.00 plus shipping which was $150.00 bucks by trucking , at the end of this year its going to be three years I have had that kit. So yes they have dropped in price alot.

Just to let you know your ride doesent look like mine cause you dont have the Border side skirts, and rear caps like I do, and I got the new RB Full Exhaust System.
Not to mention the fact that Im rollin on Racing Heart Type C2's 18x9 rear by 18x8 front, connected to JIC Coilovers. And my car does not have the moldings on the doors, nor on the rear bumper, and my side skirts, and rear skirts were all molded into the car to make it look stock, not to mention to look diffrent from the rest. But Edmound your ride looks good, just get some nice rims, and your set, and also some coilovers, let me tell you coilvers make the car, you just got to drive it and see it to appreciate it :D
