pics - FC model cars, suppliers, etc.. - GOOD INFO!!

As you know several of us have been collecting model FC cars.

I've compiled a picture of what's out there below.

Right now there's 4 model kits (build it yourself) on ebay. There's also 3 different eletrical RC cars that have EXCELLENT quality slightly below "diecast" quality.

Here's a supplier of the MINIZ RC cars:

Cheap shells - great for display:

Actual RC car kit - eletrical motor, gears, etc..

THE ULTIMATE is the real working mini ROTARY ENGINE gas powered RC cars, but I haven't found a new supplier yet. I want one BAD though.

There's also a paper Turbo II you can download & assemble yourself :D

here's the mini z pic. They come in red, silver, and InitialD white.

And here's 3/4 of what's out there right now, but I haven't found a supplier of these though :(

got to much time in your hands

vaughnc 03-22-02 10:18 AM

but it's fun :)

rico05 03-22-02 10:32 AM

That is pretty cool man!! I can't wait to get my Initial D White Shining Star FC model to get in from Japan!

rxhevin 03-22-02 11:53 AM

1/10 RC all the way!

The best is still the 1/10 scale gas or electric RC. Can't beat a 17inch FC model that will go 50mph. You can even get the rotary engine for it.

Holy crap that RE radio controlled car is cool!! I'd love to hear the sound of the engine...

vaughnc 03-22-02 12:24 PM

rxhevin,

Who sells those anyway? That's the one I want :)

vaughnc 03-22-02 01:44 PM

OK danny from http://mini-zone.dinball.com emailed me these pictures. I'm not sure if they're the rotary engine though (waiting on his reply).

that last pic is not a rotary eng ...it looks like a regular two strocker.
the magazine with the rotary r/c is a guy that built it himself,no company makes it ,its a o.s rotary eng fitted onto a r/c car
sorry guys stop drolling:mad:

vaughnc 03-22-02 01:58 PM

so what's an o.s rotary engine then?

splking 03-22-02 02:19 PM

that o.s. is def. not a rotary. ive been building and flying r/c airplanes and cars for about 10 years. ive never seen a rotary. either this guy built it himself or its only available over there.

can anyone read japanese?

InfiniIIIREX 03-22-02 02:40 PM

So do they actually have a rotary engine R/C car? Or is that custom? I have a nitro car with a little two stroke engine like what vaughnc posted, and its cool as shit. Revs to about 30,000 rpm and sounds like it is going to explode at full throttle.

Thats the O.S rotary engine specifically made for R/C airplanes. You can purchase them on a any hobby store that sells OS engines. He had to modify the chassis of the car among other things.

bingoboy 03-22-02 04:52 PM

someone buy me one...ill be your best friend :)

stickgoat 03-22-02 05:23 PM

vmb 03-22-02 05:30 PM

vmb 03-22-02 05:32 PM

theres a guy that built a t-maxx truck with one of those eng in the oct or dec issue of r/c action

vaughnc 03-22-02 06:09 PM

HERE WE GO!!!!!!

Looks like I'll be building me a 40MPH R/C car with 3 speed automatic, full suspension, etc..

Just so my signature can read:

91 Turbo II
89 Convertible

OMG

SonicRaT 03-22-02 06:51 PM

I wonder if you can stick an engine like that in an HPI RS4.....

RotoHead 03-22-02 07:08 PM

Dang, too bad the dang thing cost $300 for a single motor! Imagine buying two and doing some fab work to create a two rotor beast! That thing would flat out fly!

Chris

Node 03-22-02 07:21 PM

Yeah, thats a Airplane engine, notice in the magazine scans how he put a fan blade on the driveshaft to cool down the housing because its not in an airplane which obviously has great aircooling.
I'm sure there's more custom parts than that. I dunno about the 3 speed, I've seen 2 speeds but anyone know where he got that from?

Barwick 03-22-02 08:01 PM

me and a friend were looking for a small rotary motor that made good power, but ended up not finding much. We ended up with a 15 horsepower motor that is super small and weighs like 10 lbs maybe?

Barwick 03-22-02 08:01 PM

my bad.. 15 horsepower two stroke motor.. two piston

InfiniIIIREX 03-22-02 09:42 PM

300 bucks? I think I'll stay with my little .12cc single piston two stroke engine, sounds like a ported rotary engine WAAAH!!! VREEE!!! I don't know something like that, I suck at typing sounds.....
