Parts number question
I was wondering if anyone happens to have the part number for the chassis wiring harness and the engine harness for an 87 gxl. I figured I would just redo all the wiring. Srew rutsy wires and bad grounds! :fawk:

Ok then. Anyone know where I can pick up a really nice used one? I have my whole car ripped apart and it would make sense to do it now.

check the forsale/ want to buy section for someone parting out a 2nd gen

Could do that but I would really like a new one. All I need is the part number and I could try to order it. On;y problem I have is that the Mazda dealer in town has thier heads up thier a$$es when it comes to an old rotary. They are useless unless I tell them exactly what I want.

There are parts fich availible for our cars. I only have the S5 right now but you should be able to find the S4 one (somewhere). |

As for getting a new one, you can't afford it. Seriously, its like 850 bucks new. And yeah, I only have an s5 one, sorry. |
No offense dude but don't worry about what I can and can't afford. I do fine. And as far as I am concerned that would be a small price to pay to know I have a complete working harness and not have to chase down electrical gremlins for as long as I own the car.

For example that last engine harness I priced was $1600 (but I have heard of dealers charging as much as $2600 retail for it) and the dash harness was another $2200. So if you have that kind of money, then I have this great motor you can buy... it only needs a single apex seal... I'll sell it to you cheap... |
I don't care how much money you have, you are crazy to pay that much for a new harness. You can buy a used haltech and make a new harness for less than that and be worlds ahead in terms of how well the car runs.

Ok how did it go from a reasonable 850 to 2600 all the sudden? Whos right here? All I want is a parts number and I will go from there. I did think about the Haltec or something similar but the stock harness will work just fine for what I want. |
Parts microfiche 86-88 NA...
Download the Body section at least. The harnesses depend on some details including PS, Auto/5sp, production number...which is probably why some parts people are shying away... |
Any idea where I can get the parts microfiche? That film would come in super handy, not only for this but for soooo many other things I may need in the future.

http://www.mazdamotorsports.com/weba...servlet/PubRX7 Somebody printed the film and scanned it in. |
Also check post #5 in this thread. That's where I find my Parts Diagrams and FSM's. If you're looking for the actual microfiche's I have no idea.
