Opinion on parts.
I just ordered a Pacesetter Big Bore Monza exhaust for my car, a Tornado, and a ACCEL® 300 PLUS THUNDERSPORT™ FERRO-SPIRAL™ WIRE SETS.
What are your opinions? Does the exhaust sound nice? |
when you say a tornado your not talking about that thing you put in your intake to make your car "seem like it has a supercharger"do you? please say no
|
Monza = Crap. Better than the stock manifold, but just barely.
Tornado = Waste of money, our intake runners are well designed. Accel Wires = I'm not 100% sure. I just bought a set, but my engine isn't together yet. I've been told the boots make the wires pop off the coils. |
How much did you pay for each?
Monza- very cheap replacement. Better off returning it and purchasing the $300 Corksport.
There is no warranty with the pacesetter monza. It is voided as soon as you "tweak it" trying to make it fit. Otherwise it clunks everywhere. I wished I kept the statement. It was something along the lines: 2 year warranty, professional installation/tube fitting may be needed. Warranty voided if exhaust is bent/changed in any way. Mine needed a little bending/tweaking and a BFH. Tornado- 'Pet rock' = cashing in on misinformation and impulse shoppers. Accel wires-keep 'em, they are pretty good and are reasonably priced. |
TORNADO IS A POS! There IS NO replacement for charged air.
S/C, Turbo, or BUST. |
Is this a joke thread??? Or???
But I agree with the above on the Tornado, they only help cars that have poorly designed intake systems, or non tuned intake runners. Although I hav't used the Pacesetter it does seem like the KMart exhaust system. And don't forget if you are stuck on using the Accell wires, to use a little dielectric silicon where the boot meets the plugs, so they can be removed 30K miles down the road, when they are worn out. |
On the contrary, I have some pacesetter headers. Got em at the local RX-7 shop for $150/$175 (can't remember) over 2 years ago. The shape is very smooth and contoured. Bolts RIGHT IN PLACE. NO fitting descrepancies whatsoever.
After 2 years of extreme rotary heat and 2 ice cold MN winters :p:, they are still very much intact and non-rusty. They DID give a noticeable increase in power at higher RPMs. They had NO markings on them whatesoever either. So I cannot say that they are 100% pacesetter for sure, that's just waht the sale guy told me. :) |
