yah, my escape is done with, it was my project from 16 to 18 years old (check out its car domain page :D) and now my new project is my rx7... the escape is now garaged because of its custom paint job, it doesnt see harsh weather if i can help it, i got it in Dec of 2000 as a 2001 model, currently has about 17k miles on it, lots of work done, way too much money in the system, and a list of dreams (mods) that will probably never get done. It was a dream, and it almost made it there, but now i have a new dream, the rx7 :)

I have been hearing about running premix.

what is the advantage in that?

lubricates better, longer engine life, less carbon buildup, i believe thats it? ive heard on tear down the engine is in better condition too... thats why im running premix now =)

What ive never understood about premix is how good it is on the injectors?

Those that run pre-mix... how often (if at all) do you need to have your injectors cleand/blueprinted?

i just started running premix and was going to send my injectors out to get cleaned/flow tested since they're prolly the 16 year old stock ones... after that ill check in a few months to see how they're doin. I havent heard anything bad from anyone so far though

I don't think that your average owner would be able to say with any certainty that premix did or did not contribute to failing fuel injectors. I would expect that gasoline is such an ongoing variable (its quality, the quantity and quality of detergents, etc - and how many people religiously buy gas from just one specific station?) that if someone did decide that their injectors needed attention, their past choice in fuels would be a more likely culprit... I can say that I've not yet heard of someone attributing fouled injectors to premix.

Engine oil was never meant to be burnt; premix was.

How would it be bad for the injectors? Do you know how injectors work?

(In the most basic sense)
Injectors are just a fuel solenoid. The bore size determines the injector size. An electromagnet controls a pin the moves in and out of the bore, and control of the cycle of this electromagnet determines fuel flow. Injectors leak when gum and varnish, deposits created from gasoline, prevent the "pin" from sealing completely against the bore, just like how carbon deposits prevent a valve from sealing against the valve seat in a piston engine. Adding a lubricant to the gas will not increase these deposits; if anything, it will keep the injectors slightly cooler.

i have the kicker solobaric L7 12
running under with my Kicker Xs 50 amp... pulls about 600W just for 1 sub. i do agree that' it is loud but not as much i would want it to. but i do have hearing damage from those subs/amp though.

dDub it's not the best i've heard out there. but it's okay.

people.. I dont care about premix, I dont have the time to add pre every time I fuel up, im a busy man. I will rebuild it when it needs it, every time.
I would have to say that more focus needs to be added to the heat issue. I be damed if I have to replace my turbo or manifold every time I have my motor rebuilt.

oh and to the peeps about the audio issues.. let me finish getting my car running before we go on to making the great sound. (pukes on L7's) RE and Brahma ONLY!

I use to run 2 Nakamichi 10's with a Alpine V12 amp. If i turned it up i would rattle the windows on other cars beside me at red lights lol. IMO JL Audio makes the best subs, Alpine for amps, and MB Quartz for speakers. thats would be one hell of a set-up
