Offest

i just finished my suspension and am very happy... the only thing is my offest of my front tire seems to be too much toe out and my tires and buckleing a bit in the turns... i heard someone saying that they have the Mazda Competion Offset? just wondering what that is and if a alignment place will know what that is? or should i just go there and tell them a little more toe in to keep more tire on the road in the turns? any help would be great!! thanks

HUH? Offset has to do with wheel design, how far in or out the wheel seats against the lugs, as opposed to the centerline of the wheel (IIRC, others can correct me if I'm wrong).

Sounds like you mean alignment settings. MazdaComp doesn't have an official alignment settings that I know of (could be wrong about it), but in any case, an alignment shop is going to have absolutely no clue what you mean.

Anyway, if you're looking for a base setting, 1* negative camber, 2.5-3* caster, and 0 toe would be a good start, IMHO. This is a topic that should be discussed more, not sure why others don't bring this up more often.. (F-body guys never seem to stop talking about alignment specs)

Anyway, g'luck.

If you don't know much about suspension tuning now is a good time to learn.

www.nsxprime.com

Poke around there a bit, they've got a lot of useful info. If you don't feel like messing with it take it to an alignment shop and have them return it to asclose to stock as possible.

you need a camber kit for extreme changes.

OK,, your confussing the term "toe" with "camber"... You want more negative CAMBER (top of wheel pointed towds car). Toe refers to the direction your wheels point, 0 tow would mean your wheels are parralell with the center line of your chassis. Toe in means your wheels point inward or towd each other in front. Toe out would be the opposite. Most alignment shops wont do custom settings, and if they do they wont warranty the work. Go with stock settings (the shope will know this) and add as much NEGATIVE CAMBER as possible. Several ways to do this. #1 re-clock your struts so the center bolt is towards the inside and back. #2, get some eccentric bolts for your strut bolt (replace only top one), these can be had from Engels. #3 and lots of $$ is adjustable pillow ball strut mounts. I run options 1 and 2 with close to 2 degrees of camber and still wear the outside of my tires (I drive too damn fast ).
