Odd Toggle Switch

Was under the hood today, and I noticed a toggle switch under there. It looked factory. Its on the driver's side of the engine bay, on the inside of the fender, black. I flipped it, but it doesn't appear to do anything. There is a ground wire and another coming and going from it, but I don't know what it does. You guys have one?

'GXL' would be the trim level.

For example, my trim level is 'GX'.

lol. that's good troubleshootin'

so still no clue what it's for huh? I have a 1990 GXL and I'm sure I've never seen a switch there. I am really curious. Can you trace the wires? any chance it goes to an underhood light? I don't think any FCs had underhood lights fom the factory.

p.s. just teasing you about the troubleshootin'. I would have done the same thing.
