odd problem

so i hooked up my battery today and put gas in my car in attempt to start it up for the first time, but i havent yet because of this problem. the battery was hooked up for about 2 hours and some how it was completly drained...i know i didnt leave lights on/doors open etc. The odd thing is that with the key in the on position i could hear something "running"..like the sound of a fuel pump or something. When i put my hand on the shift **** i can feel a slight vibration/buzzing.. I assume something is hooked up wrong I just don't know what it could be.

could it be the antenna motor? although i have no radio in my car. i have been searching but cant figure it out. Since i can feel the vibrations/constant buzz in the shifter it makes me think it has something to do with the starter... is it possible for the start to constantly draw power if hooked up wrong?

more searching... would this be the result of the +V cable(the one that comes with the clip) and the cable coming out of the starter with the metal plate being on the wrong posts?

What have you worked on between the last time it was running and when you put the battery back in?

Turbo or N/A, S5 or S4, etc... More info needed.

One thing comes to mind that might drain your battery is if you removed your stereo while leaving the Amp for a Sub hooked on. Removal of the "remote" wire would leave the amp on constantly.

I don't know enough to help you much, but that "buzzing" on the shifter and the noise are the fuel pump running. With the key in the "on" position, it starts up.

Only if the key is in the "start" position, the afm cut switch (whatever it's called) is jumpered, or the afm is stuck/bad.

To the OP, let's do the idiot check first. Did you hook up the battery backwards? If you think it's the antenna motor, check it. It's located on the left rear corner of the car. You get to it from the trunk. Put your hand on it to see if it's running. For it to be running, with your radio removed, there must be some seriously screwed up wiring.
