i'm not an expert but i think that this O2 sensor might be bad....

that'll buff out

10thaniv 09-28-11 05:30 PM

Thats a fast acting O2 sensor. LOL

RotaryEvolution 09-28-11 05:59 PM

and a crappy phone pic...

dwb87 09-28-11 11:21 PM

How was the car acting while this was in?

j9fd3s 09-28-11 11:24 PM

car passed smog, retarding timing from 10 degrees advanced to stock knocked NOX from 800 to 600.

the O2 sensor knocked NOx down to 231. HC went up by 4, to about 30. CO came up to 0.08 from maybe 0.07.

both precats are hollow and the main cat is about half gone too.

RotaryEvolution 09-29-11 09:28 AM

those are probably random changes with how the car was setup prior to smog during each test. the O2 sensor is rediculously underused in these rocks that come in the shape of an ECU.

tuscanidream 09-29-11 09:34 AM

Good that it passed, but it has seen better days.

:icon_tup::scratch::icon_tdow... Lol

arghx 09-29-11 09:42 AM

that might be the worst condition o2 sensor I have ever seen

no. except for changing the sensor and the timing it did the three tests back to back.

it drove fine! the smog guy suggested the o2, and i didn't believe him so i actually built the LED tester thing. the car has ABS so changing the sensor wasn't easy

nycgps 09-29-11 10:39 AM

You should have no problem buffing that out ;)

RXSpeed16 09-29-11 10:57 AM

Bad 02 sensor causes lean condition and saves fuel. Who is going to set up the group buy on O2 sensors that have been bashed with a hammer?

Perfect time to start a "jar of shame" Thats where you put all the exracted bolts, broken gears, and other things that you cursed for hours while you left blood sweat and tears in your engine bay.

this car has ABS, so it was an adventure to get the sensor out! if you have a GOOD o2 socket its actually a straight shot... if you have a crappy socket like me, its easiest to just pull the manifold
