The closer I get to assembling the pickier and more issues I find....another porting screw up?? Also does this water jacket look questionable? there's still material on the side to support the seal.

I slightly touched the outer control ring... This was from the first time I ported everything, I completely destroyed my center and now have a new one, ported successfully.

Those ports are usable. Not good, but usable.

As for the water jacket, I hesitate to give advice without clearer pictures. You need better lighting and a real camera, not a phone.

Hopefully that link works. My iron had a similar issue although not as bad. Measure it with a set of calipers and see how much material is actually there.

+1 on the link and info contained within. I feel like this needs to be a more widely known repair since it's quite an easy fix and the problem seems to be so common.
