intercooler couplers arent really an rx7 specific thing. yeah there are a few of them. just follow the 2" pipe that goes from the turbo to the IC, and then the IC to the throttle body.

My friends did the same exact thing after pushing his car to the limit , turned the car off after timer and the idle has been horrible ever since.
checked the hose, its still attached, and anything attached to it isn't loose either.
could it possibly be that i knocked some sensor loose? cause after the car warms up it doesn't do it anymore, it'll hover around 1k but the motor will shake violently and rattle the car at the same rpm
did you check to see that EVERY hose clamp that sees compressed air is tight?
yeah, the one hose behind the intercooler looked like its been pushed down, but it was still on tight
earth is definitely flat.
no, it's "ear this flat," as in he's got a flat ear.
Maybe one of your hoses is cracked? They get real stiff 'cause of the heat and all. |
When you pulled your plugs did you look at them to see what kind of burn pattern you were getting (i.e consistancy). It really sounds like you may have breached a water jacket seal. That is exactly how they act when this happens also you mentioned that you had a coolant leaks this could be due to un-natral preasure. Sorry for the spelling guys I just got off work and its very late..
Check compresion mk... |
the spark plugs looked normal, no corrosion on them nothing that looks like a foreign substance was in the engine and exploded. im going to check on it some more in the morning, thanks for the help, i'll post as soon as i check
though on the spark plugs the one that came from the front rotor was blacker than the one that came off the rear one.
first thing first..
Find the leakage of the coolant.. > there is a hose right under the oilfilter which comes to be cracky leaky and all the other nasty hose manuer.. lol (sp) if that dont work, you might have a rech a water jacket. then just take your intercooler off there should be 4 hoses atached to it.. 2 big ones and 2 little ones. then inspect them and up the back together nice and tight. if it still doing that, change your spark plugs because 750cc injectors are quite big for stock turbo without a computer management.. that would make you run real rich! because you even got a fcd. (mine runs rich with stock 550cc with fcd, i could just emagine 750cc) P.s If it is stalling while you are driving it, is it when you come to a stock or when you let it idel:?_if it is when you let it idle only, might be because you need to adjust your Trotle possition sensor. but if it is stalling when you have your foot on the gas... then i believe you might have internal problems.(thats if you have checked your intercooler hoses well.) Good luck,.. but in onder to be of better service, i would need to know more about the problem. *(details are quite good). |
it doesn't stall with the gas pedal being pushed, it only stalls at idle, and im taking off my intercooler today, to do some more checking.
i atleast figured out the coolant leak, the cap that goes on the elbow to the water pump is warped a little bit, between the metal andthe black plastic where the cap sits on theres a gap that coolant will seep out of, shoulkd i get a new elbow, or just that cap assembly? as far as the idling problem goes it only does it on occasion now.
