I have the chance to pick up a 1987 Rx-7. It has been sitting in my in-laws driveway for at least a year and they want it gone. I do not know what is wrong with it. I was told it quit running. What are some of the basic things I need to look at to troubleshoot this car? I am reasonably mechaically inclined, but no experience with rotary engines.

The thing that makes this attractive is that I can probably get the car for next to nothing. Any help of recommendations would be greatly appreciated

 

Give ATF a shot. Can't kill you if you get the car for under a hundred. can always part it out and get your money back.
