New wheels...finally.
 

Ive been after a new set of wheels for my FC for almost a year. It seemed that everytime I went to purchase a set, something happened, or I almost got screwed. First I was buying a set of 17x8/17x9 Enkei Rp01s from a member of NoPistons.com. Well turns out he "sold" the wheels to a number of different people...I almost lost over $600 there. Then I bought a set of 5-Zigen FN01R-Cs off Ebay. Well to make along story short I almost got ripped off again, and it took almost 2 months and many phonecalls and complaints to get my money back (about $800 that time). Then I was going to buy another set of Enkei RP01s off a forum member, but they mysteriously stopped returning my emails once the sale got serious :confused: So enough of that, let get to the pics. Sorry none on the car yet, that will have to wait until next week once the tires are in :D. I got these wheels for less than $300 including shipping. They are mustang GT wheels in 17x8 all the way around. I weighed them today on a kitchen scale, and got an average of 16.5lbs each. (Ive heard they are 17lbs, so my scale may be a bit off) Still, not a bad weight at all for a 17x8, for the price. They do sell blank centercaps to get rid of the mustang emblem, so Ill be ordering a set of those also. Tires will be 255/40r17 out back and 235/40r17 in front. Im very happy with this purchase and the Ebay seller I got them from. Came with new valve stems, and packaging was great. Let me know what you think :)

If anyone was interested in selling a set without ripping me off I would have :p: But the GT wheels are the same weight, at about 1/3 the cost, so Im happy. I think they look pretty good also (once I get the blank center)

I love stock wheels from other cars. My FC is now wearing Nissan 300zx 16x7.5 wheels.

cant wait to see them on the car. i'm all about saving money, especially on wheels. i'm just sick of my 15x6.5 convertible wheels (my car is a coupe if no one cares:)).

Sir Rupert Hobo doesn't know crap about the Mustang Wheels :) I'm the one who he got them from. Just so you know if you lower the car a inch you will scrape on decent turns and scrape going over bumps

i actually kind of liked the mustang gt rims w/o the centercaps at all... i ended up getting a set of rp01 knockoffs for a lil over 200 bucks, 18's up front 19's in the rear... too bad i don't have a car to put them on now

Hey, I just got those wheels myself (the mustang gt wheels). Just picked the last one up from the post office today. I bought my set without center caps though. There's no way I'm putting a mustnag emblem on my car! You should be aware that the hub is a little thicker on the mustang wheels so you won't be able to get as much thread engagement on the lugs as your supposed to. I got some longer ARP studs (for late model GM cars, fits just fine) and open ended nuts to solve that problem. You should also get some centering rings, and torque the lugs with the wheels in the air. While you can probably run with stock studs and rings on the street without problems, it would be stupid to do so on the track.

Lol, mine's lowered about that much and the 16" Z wheels are a very close fit. There is a paper thin gap between the 225 tires and the springs, and the outer edge of the tires barely clear the upper fender well when the suspension is compressed. I wouldn't go wider than 225, and if I had 17" rims I would have to go 35 or 40 series to make it work. :eek:

which mustang wheels are the ones with the fat charcoal spokes (five spoke, I think), and a little lip?..coulda sworn they were the gt ones, but I guess not...

the mach 1's come with them

Haha. :p: Im aware of the scraping issue, which is why Im going to be running corksport wide fenders up front.

Do you happen to know where I can get centering rings for this application?

Yes, those are GT ones also. Those are the Billet style. There were a bunch of wheel options on mustangs.

The one's with the charcoal and silver lip are the bullet style. I am planning on getting those, but im worried about offset and such, i don't want any spacers.

If any one wants to purchase Sentra SE-R Spec-v rims, i have them (4 lug)...pm me

i like the gt wheels better than the enkei's

haha, that's because you were still running the stock stang tire size of 245-45 up front.

also, if you have a stiffer spring rate(275lbs like i'm running up front) you won't scrape.:)

Yea Ill be running 235/40r17 up front, and 255/40r17 out back. I just ordered my tires yesterday actually..they should be here Wed :D So well see about scraping, Ill probably end up getting the CS fenders even if I dont though, just because the wheel will protrude a little out front.

I havent been able to find blank centercaps, I Im going to modify the stock one. Im going to sand down the mustang emblem smooth, and then paint everything inside the black marker line I made. Im going to paint it black.

Thanks, Im really happy with them. I just need to get some center caps on there, think it looks a little funny without them, in the rear anyway. I also want to get some hub rings as well. I need to find the measurement for the mustang wheels center-bore, then I can call around and see if I can get a set made.
About the front wheel clearance, keep in mind there isnt an engine up there, so Im not sure what that will look like when it is pushed down to normal sitting position. Id like to be ok with them how they are though. Have you ever experienced any rubbing with the 235/40s, under hard cornering, etc?

nope, NONE. i will be lowering the front about 3/4" more also... so stay tuned:D

What's the offset? I really like how the rear meets up to the fender so well.
