New stage 1 fuel system coming out

So ive been working with the guys over at CJ-Motorsports (some of you may know t hem from their 3rd gen fuel systems or the nissa 350z sytem) and they want me to check and see whos interested in their stage 1 kit for the 2nd gen. Heres a link to the 3rd gen kit, http://cj-motorsports.com/catrx7s1.htm

Let me know on here or in PM if you are interested, I wont have final pricing until after they make the one off for me. If i remember correctly (we usually discuss these sorts of th ings at the bar after a few drinks) they may be willing to offer injectors, pumps and their dual pump setup as well (if i take mine out). If we can get say 10 people interested I can get the price down. So at this point just those interested drop me a line in the thread or a PM and Ill keep you updated.

boosted414 02-05-09 06:32 PM

And hey are local in Chicago... Nice!

FrankV702 02-05-09 09:55 PM

I'd definitly be in for some quality fuel rails and 100% for sure on that dual pump setup! :D

i'd bite. seeing as how both my 7's dont run and need a tank flushing, why not upgrade while cleaning out the tanks. :icon_tup:

What the hell does "Stage 1" mean? This is real life not Forza.

Actually when referencing to aftermarket fuel setups or upgrades relating to fuel, the term "Stages" was used way back in the 60s and probably even before that. So in essence Stage 1 might be the appropriate term.

If we are referring to tires or suspension and brakes, i don't think that using stage would be correct. (correct me if i am wrong)

Id be interested, but besides fuel rails and stainless steel lines what else would be included in the CJ-motorsports kit? Would the parts list be identical to the FD stage 1 kit?

MaczPayne 02-06-09 05:10 PM

What injectors are the rails machined for?

boosted414 02-06-09 06:28 PM

the rails arent made yet. and IIRC the actual bung size isnt as important as the Oring thickness you are using, fairly standard for that portion.

as far as whats included that will depend on what you want, we're debating on these options:
1) Just rails no SS lines
2) Rails with lines properly routed and all fittings needed
3) Rails, Lines and FPR (as well as FPR mounting bracket for a place usable even on a stock vehicle)

So to answer the question, yes. very close to the FD kit, but made for the FC.

A stage 2 setup would include the dual pump or modified single pump in tank as well as the fuel rails, and a stage 3 would probably include a swirl pot and lines etc..

As it stands i believe we are on track to pull my setup sunday and take the measurements, so after that it should be a week before I see a finished product.

This looks like a good quality product and I wouldn't mind having it, but with my non turbo vert not pushing out much more than stock horsepower it doesn't seem like a senseable way to spend my money. No offense to you or the product. Is this product mainly meant for higher horsepower rx7s?

boosted414 02-06-09 11:12 PM

yes for sure.

Devil's Advocate here

That FD fuel setup looks gorgeous and has all kinds of bling power..and I'm sure has all kinds of purposes for high fuel demands. But most of us 2nd gen owners are pushing just over 200hp and won't need the setup.

Not sure what pricing would be for FC compared to the FD. But $600 for fuel rails and such is gonna be a hard sell for 2nd Gen owners who's auto insurance would total out their car at around that same price.

Of course that's the sensible side of me speaking...and Lord knows RX owners by nature are a bit off that track.

It doesn't mean much of anything, and I assume that is why he included the link to the product listing and pictures.

Something like this product is really only needed once your engine reaches the 300-450bhp range. Otherwise, it is only good for show.

LOL, welcome to the 2Gen forum. FYI even most of the people who say they are interested will not pony up once the money is required. Also, plan on having this thread deleted if CJ Motorsports is not a paying vendor on this website.

boosted414 02-07-09 03:51 PM

interesting concept with the paying vendor thing. how does that work exactly?

Forum members can have their user names tagged as offical vendors if they pay according to which benefits they want (simple vendor status, advertising banners, a dedicated sub-forum, etc.). This will allow them to offer group buys or other new parts for sale. This is also required for commercial shops which sell used parts. The primary purpose of this policy is to offer an incentive for vendors to advertise on this website. Unfortunately, this also eliminates any competition from the little guys who can't afford the fees. Additionally, it stops shops like Rotary Resurrection from selling cheap parts on this forum whenever they strip down a car and want to offer the parts at a discount to forum members. Once you are tagged as a vendor, if you decide to stop being a paying vendor the admins will lock your account like they did to Dan Atkins, and then you can never post here again under that name. This is why there are not very many knowledgeable members on this forum anymore. The forum moderators are supposed to police the forum for non-paying vendors offering group buys or parts for sale, but the buddies of the forum admins can still advertise without paying, just like they can get away with breaking other forum rules. The forum moderators have a pretty tough job because they usually don't know which forum members are the buddies of the forum admins.

See the forum FAQ for a less cynical explanation:

I might be interested in the dual pump unit as long as it had a provision for the stock level sender, or the generic 33/230ohm aftermarket sender.

I warn you though, unless they have a spare tank to cut open and make sure everything fits, I would be VERY leary about it fitting properly and actually working. I speak from experience.
