New Pictures of my FC, what do you think!

Just snapped a few pics of my car. It was a nice sunny day, until I went to take the pics anyway, which then it got cloudy. Anyway, I just got done installing my S5 taillights, and these are also the 1st pics since the new Tociko struts/springs. The car handles and rides beautifully now, even better than before. Anyways, just looking for some input, what do you guys think? :)

And the pacesetter cat-back is being replaced with a Greddy PE, hopefully by next week

Sorry for the blurryness on this one, not sure what happened.. Notice my S5 N/A gauge cluster, and custom (sled-driver) pedal set.

Engine bay , notice the painted plenum, UIM, and LIM. Matching the strut bar, calipers, and wiper arms

Looks nice, I love the first shot.

1987RX7guy 08-12-03 05:28 PM

looks like you ran it off the road hehe

Good pics man. :)

mrb63083 08-12-03 05:39 PM

rear pic looks mean

MaTT_FoULk 08-12-03 05:45 PM

The BBS wheels look great on that color car.

YakATK 08-12-03 06:05 PM

Nice car...gotta love the S5 tail lights. :D

silverrotor 08-12-03 06:58 PM

Now you need the ACT ss Clutch, X-treme Pressure Plate and RB Aluminum Flywheel I'm selling soon.;)

Chimeron 08-12-03 07:04 PM

ummmmmmmm.......... is that stock air intake pipe doing anything other than looking silly?

Kim 08-12-03 07:12 PM

what do you guys think!

Your car looks great, but next time cut the grass.
I dont dig the quad exhaust though

Rxmfn7 08-12-03 07:25 PM

Well I figure it still routes some cooler outside air toward the intake, so I left it there. PLus I think it looks better than just the fan shroud ;)

And Kim: Yea I dont care for the exhaust either, but it was cheap at the time the stock cat-back was rusting through, so thats why I have it. Its going to be gone soon though :)

Thanks guys!

Chimeron 08-12-03 07:29 PM

haha, I guess you have a point about routing air. I dunno about looking better. Depends on how clean you want it. Cool though. Nice car. I'm definitely jealous. Mine's screwed up right now.

Cwaters 08-12-03 07:32 PM

Nice looking car.
does kind-of look like you just ran out of gass and coasted off the road though:)

sectachrome 08-12-03 08:01 PM

i love the wheels and s5 tails. ive never seen that kind of spoiler body colored like that though.

thecause17 08-12-03 09:24 PM

Looks good. :) I like the new tails. :D

What color is that? It looks too light to be black, almost looks like a darkish gray or a gunmetal.

Rxmfn7 08-12-03 09:37 PM

Nope, its black. Gloss metallic black, but its very shiny :)

JasonL 08-12-03 09:43 PM

Is your AFM upside down?

BDoty311 08-12-03 09:52 PM

Is your AFM upside down?
Looks right side up to me...

Great pics, an actually very clean FC. Its the cool little touches like the S5 tails and BBS wheels. Who thinks the S4 tails look better again??

Now all you got to do is rip some of that stuff out from under the hood, ie PS and sub-zero assist.

1987RX7guy 08-12-03 09:53 PM

BDoty311- Right here buddy. :)

Thanks., yea all thay is coming out, along with A/C. My cold start assist is actually disabled and the UIM blocked off, but I havent gotten around to removing the bottles yet. And as for the S4 lights, I actually dont think they look bad, they just need to be body colored, like the 10AE. But I came across a good deal on these S5 tails, so I decided to swap em..

I like the old style lights better, makes the car look like the decade it was build(I love 80s´sportscars)
Also shows the retards in their brandnew GTI´s or worse that they got beat by an old car:D

Ryde _Or_Die 08-13-03 01:02 AM

Looks nice. My car is the same color with the same rims :D I think they look better without the center caps though ;)

easy p-cheesy 08-13-03 02:49 AM

like it a lot. Overcast is actually some of the best lighting for outside car pictures. Promotes neutral colors instead of a yellowish wash or unusual tints.

Did you just paint the OEM sport wing, or is that aftermarket?

Rxmfn7 08-13-03 07:54 AM

Just painted the OEM wing. I have the sport aero pieces that will be going on shortly also.

Travis R 08-13-03 08:30 AM

I like the painted stock wing.
Next time try taking some pictures while kneeling down to get a lower point of view. It makes the car look meaner. :)
Keep up the good work.

ultradef 08-13-03 08:42 AM

Looks great with the vert wheels and S5 tails. Very clean car :)

Ya I figured that stuff was going to go eventually, but wasnt sure. Yes if you do have the S4 tails, they look best painted car color, makes it look more like a part of the car rather than a totally different piece.

KiyoKix 08-13-03 10:28 AM

Beautiful looking car man. I see you went to the dark side (S5 tail lights ;)...but I guess it was a good deal j/k). I still love the aero parts that you have on there (and no longer feel original at the sametime :)).

*shameless plug*
DAMN those new suspsension components make the car look even better standing there! And you say it handles like a dream?!? Damn...those things must be awesome! *end of plug*

Sweet car man

Kiyo

wozzoom 08-13-03 10:36 AM

Excellent looking car! Reminds me of....Mine!

Newton, PA? Is that on the east or west side of PA?

Zach McAfee 08-13-03 11:20 AM

I'm one of those wierdos who doesn't like S5 tails.
http://www.zaxjax.com/rrrweb/Images/ZRX7rear.JPG
I say paint your trim to match and you have one sexy rexy. I love silver.

TonyTurboII 08-13-03 12:21 PM

You painted the sport wing? How did you go about that? I wanted to do the same thing.

Rxmfn7 08-13-03 01:03 PM

Kiyo: Hehe, thanks. And yes, you gave me a great deal on the suspension setup... I owe you one ;)

Wozzom: Im in SouthWestern PA, about a 45 minute drive from Pittsburgh.

TonyTurboII: Before paint it was sprayed with a type of sealant , to prevent any moisture getting into the rubber, and also to help the paint stick. Most urethane paints should be flexable enough to work, but I think they do have a special paint for this type of material.

KiyoKix 08-13-03 03:40 PM

You're welcome man, anything to help. Now then...when are you gonna get a short shifter and stop worring about that sloppy shifter?!? :) I really think that's all you'll need anyhow, btw what bushings did you get?

I won't make any comments on the "prancing ponies" you have coming out of the rear of the car ;).

Mephis 08-13-03 04:42 PM

see, i made this picture a long time ago(sry for bad quality i shouldnt have compressed it) You stole my camera work !http://www.forumx.org/forums/attachment.php?postid=3711

rxse7en 08-13-03 05:32 PM

Did you add the Sport wing? You have the car listed as a GXL in your sig, you may actually have a Sport, no? Your front strut towers don't have the AAS connectors either. Wasn't AAS stock on the GXL?

Aside from my silly questions, the car looks awesome.

ICEMARK HELP! :D

Rxmfn7 08-13-03 05:55 PM

Yes, my car is a GXL. I added the sport wing, and also removed the AAS actuator strut tops, and replaced them with the normal ones when I installed my new suspension setup. I will also be removing the center switched for the "sport' and "normal" modes, so no one will be able to tell it was originally a GXL *cough* heavy pig * cough* ;)

Thanks :)

rxse7en 08-13-03 06:58 PM

https://www.rx7club.com/forum/attach...&postid=679067

I restored an '87 Sport but left the awesome nubby wing black. I liked the black and gunmetal look and keeping the stock aero package in black really helped offsetting the body color. I think you may want to see what powdercoating those 'vert wheels black may look like :)

Matt22 08-13-03 07:17 PM

i personally like the original 'sport' spoiler it get you the best drag coef. along with the aero pieces of course. I can't wait to put mine on but I have to bend the metal strips back into their original place first. your car looks really good though. Makes me want a set of s4 vert rims, and really you got to love the s5 tails. Matt22

West TX RX-7 08-13-03 07:21 PM

Super clean looking RX-7 there man. Take care of it and enjoy!!

Rxmfn7 08-13-03 09:54 PM

Thanks alot guys. :) Feels good to know other people appreciate some of my hard work. Ive actually been contemplating getting the centers of the wheels powdercoated black, and leaving the lip polished, but Im nit sure hw it would look.

Rxmfn7,

DO IT! :D It would look amazing.

If you did that, send your hood to be done the same colour. I know I know, it sounds rice or whatever the hell you want to call it, but you need to see the silver with a gunmetal grey hood. charger- has a parts car the same colour as your car, and he got a different hood for it (which by chance happened to be the stock darker gunmetalish coloured hood). Anyways, everytime he or I get parts off it I'm just astonished by just how beautiful it looks.

Honestly. :)

Almost makes me want to change my paint scheme.

Combine that with Polished lip gunmetal rims, and.. it would be.. just..

Rxmfn7 08-14-03 03:07 PM

Haha, I dont think Id do the hood, but the wheels are a maybe. ;) Thanks

Mephis 08-14-03 03:11 PM

they have spray paint for wheels now, just spray em and see what ya think, if ya like em have it powdercoated, but ive seen the black and silver rims alot, ied die o have a set for my car i love em, ied almost risk getting caught to jack a set.

Rxmfn7 08-14-03 03:14 PM

So I should spraypaint them to see if I like them? And what happens if I dont? No thanks....

rxse7en 08-14-03 04:55 PM

It would probably come off with solvent.

Mephis 08-14-03 04:58 PM

exactly. use some paint that wont stick to metal if your worried. and rember when its powder coated itll be shiney. not dull like paint.

thecause17 08-14-03 09:27 PM

Guys, he has mint condition vert wheels, seriously not a mark on them....

I know where you live, you spray paint them, and I will kick your ass. ;)

luvmyrx7 09-24-03 02:45 PM

Love it! Look just like mine except for the wheels. Mine needs new shocks beyond badly @ almost $200 a piece. OUCH! My husband wants to convert the AAS. I won't let him I want to keep it stock. Any advice on AAS?

Rxmfn7 09-24-03 02:50 PM

AAS is basically worthless. IMO its pointless to buy replacement AAS struts. I have upgraded to a nice tociko spring/strut combo, and it is worlds better than the stock AAS stuff. Thanks for the compliments. :)

Mr. Eccentric 09-24-03 03:20 PM

Very nice, no rice there. I really like the BBS rims on the silver body.
