Most "test pipes" are larger in the middle because they pack them with a sound dampening material (basically a muffler) to make the RX-7 slightly quieter. I don't think it sacrifices any flow or velocity compared to a straight through test pipe, if so it's minimal.

Tofuman FC3S 11-09-08 06:12 AM

THNX for that info!

Riz.

Also, it looks like a high flow cat... So, if you get pulled over and the cop pulls out a stick w/ a mirror on it, they will see something that looks like a cat... Although we dont have emissions here in Florida, BSO does that kind of crap all of the time to pile on the tickets...

ICEY? 11-09-08 11:26 AM

thanks guys.

but yeah.. it basicly is a pipe.. exept it bolts strait on and it looks like an actual cat so caops cant really give you shit.

no editing done.

Yeah, I love shooting fire.

My injectors leak like a mofo, so I constantly run richer than I should. That + straight pipe = winner at backfire competitions.

mario1386 11-09-08 07:39 PM

i have the same obx exhaust but for it can fit cause it was short 2"inches so i had to make a adapter to fit the header which is a pacesetter brand.

did your's bolt on or what?

ITSWILL 11-09-08 08:18 PM

let us know when you get your first ticket.

epic 11-09-08 08:28 PM

u gota pay to play man. or in this case burn!

jake1191 11-09-08 08:32 PM

HeyITZthatFC 11-09-08 08:46 PM

mine was a little to long so i cut about 2 inches off and welded the rest back together

i think its 3.5inch tip

Asterisk 12-28-08 02:09 AM

wait, so I am thinking of getting the RB presilencer (cause otherwise this shit will be too loud!) and this exhaust.

I read that it's supposed to delete the cat and bolt straight to the header.

You said you cut it a bit and rewelded it to fit the test pipe, right?

jake1191 12-28-08 10:39 AM

does anyone know if the OBX header bolts to the stock cat?

Its also going on a vert if that matters.

fcdrifter13 12-28-08 12:31 PM

Be careful of what you replace on a NA exhaust, replacing some bits can make the 5th and 6th aux ports not function.

Boosted11 12-28-08 02:15 PM

Decent exhaust! Really makes those flames come out. :)

I wonder if that test pipe would go into the racing beat system in place of the precilencer, probly not because it looks a little small.

jake1191 12-28-08 04:17 PM

yea i plan on keeping the stock mufflers on my N/A they are fairly new and not the slightest bit rusted

mario1386 12-29-08 05:41 PM

im going to make this clear for all its not a cat back its a down pipe-back exhaust

for some reason its not made right for the rx7 for it can bolt up got to make a adaption

HotRodMex 12-29-08 05:55 PM

ICEY? : Can you post some pics of the car from a few angles? Also, is the piping 3"? how does it fit on the Resonator? (I have the same one). Thanks.
