New Corksport Exaust?

Hmmm....that looks like a great exaust for a 289 or so exaust. Um some questions, will it bolt right up to a bonez RP? And am I stupid or does it look like it goes out your driver side? And moreover how does ss hold up to the heat of a rotary?

Josepi 03-12-02 06:49 AM

Looks like it passes out of the driver side. SS should work fine.

How hard would it be to flip the exhaust over, so it came out the passanger side? Or hell, what's a good, reasonably priced thru-muffler? I'm wanting a passanger side exhaust, that will connect to an RB Presilencer

You could ask if they'd sell the muffler, then have a shop weld you up a custom piece for pretty cheap. :D

Gefunk 03-12-02 09:19 AM

K, does anyone know if it would bolt directily to the Bonez RP? No muffler shops around so I need it to bolt to the Rp? I hope it does because that is a sweet deal for that kind of material.

Josepi 03-12-02 09:21 AM

Well if it's a cat back, and your bonez stuff replaced all that and bolted to the factory cat back, wouldn't it be safe to say that it should bolt to it?

Bump, bump, thanks for the info, I plan on giving corksport an email and see what side it comes out. I really don't like the idea of it comming out the driver side and if it does I don't know if I will still buy it or go with the Apexi N'1 single, any opinions left?

Liquid Anarchy 03-12-02 05:03 PM

Just got a reply back from corksport. The exhaust exits out the drivers side, no other option. However they do sell the muffler for $89. The way I see it, just buy the muffler, fo to an exhaust shop and have them make you the piping. You should save some money, have it exit the side you want to, and do it for less than $400 ( probably closer to half that )

I mailed Corksport and they said piping diameter was 3"! So they offer a full 3" stainless turbo back! Good price too!

flying taco 03-13-02 12:22 AM

Ok... im not seeing where the exhaust is... i just see a muffler/exhaust tips section... help? haha

Josepi 03-13-02 07:43 AM

I got an email back from them, they are "maybe" on the creation of a dual cat-back. So I guess i'll be buying some mufflers!

jmseven 03-13-02 08:56 AM

Nice....I guess they want to be different...or, this exhaust is only for the JDM market?

the pipe is 3" and it bolts up to the stock cat.
personally im going to be getting a thunderfabrications 3" downpipe, also designed to bolt to stock, so im thinking they will work well together. my only concern is how it sounds. i dont want one that makes my car sound really ricey.

Jerk_Racer 03-13-02 03:44 PM

I ordered one yesterday. On the phone they told me it was 3" except for where it connects to the cat. It is 2.5" for a few inches, but goes up to a full 3" right after that. For $289, I don't see a problem with having a 3" piece welded on in order to replace this little bit. My frontpipe is a full 3" anyway. It's a RS*R pipe that replaces both the downpipe and midpipe. All for 14,000yen. ;)

Everyone who ordered one needs to post a clip of how it looks and more importantly, how it SOUNDS.

Gefunk 03-13-02 09:48 PM

Bumpity bump, Someone make this a sticky until we get some sounds :D

Scott 89t2 03-13-02 10:07 PM

from an e-mail

"- 3 inch piping, but necks to 2.5" where it meets the cat (like the N1 series)

- louder than the Apexi GT series (loud!!!)

- The Apexi super silencer will NOT fit the tip - he actually went out and tried it really quick :)."

Jerk_Racer 03-16-02 01:50 AM

My exhaust came in yesterday. Then I'll be able to judge how loud it is. $303 shipped to my door!!! This thing looks great. I'd give it an A+ on build quality. Sure beats paying twice the price for a brand name.

Bolt that bitch up and get us an mp3 file :)

Cwaters 03-16-02 10:29 AM

why make a single exhaust exit on the driver's side? There's certainly less bends to come right out the right ....right?

Cory

jimmyv13 03-16-02 12:38 PM

To be different
