new catback exhaust - only HKS Apexi Racing Beat?

Am I correct in assuming it looks like new product support for the FC has fallen off a cliff over the past several years?

Specifically I've been looking at TII catback exhaust systems and it looks like the A'pexi, HKS, and Racing Beat systems are the only reputable ones still on offer?

I was hoping to get a hold of the Bonez catback but I have a sneaking suspicion rx7.com is no longer a valid/supported?

Which maybe begs a further question, if suppliers are becoming few and far between maybe a sticky of vendor/reseller sites with what they offer would be useful? Hell I was shocked to see the only thing corksport offers for the FC now is stainless steel braided brake lines.

Ya, a lot of the vendors for the fc are gone now days. Try to find a decent used one if you don't want any of the remaining products still offered.

FWIW, I know its not a name brand, but Top Speed Pro 1 is a company in Texas I believe that makes a 3" turbo back set up for less than $400. It sounds dubious, but I decided to give it a shot given the price. I have been pleasantly surprised with the fitment and quality, and it seems to flow plenty as I have made decent power with it. The only downside is that it is loud, very loud. It comes with a silencer which does help a bit, but is still louder than the Racing Beat dual I had previously.

i just bought the Bonez cat from rx7.com a few weeks ago. everythings been great with it and the shipped it right away. so yes they're still a good reputable site

That's good to know. Their last update on the page was from early/mid 2016 so I was under the impression that it was now defunct.

Once (if) I get the S5 TII I'm eyeing I'll try ordering the Bonez cat back.

On my old gtu I ran an Apexi GT catback, and now on my S4 T2 I'm running a Corksport. One thing I dont like about my Corksport is there are too many parts to bolt together (2 testpipes, presilencer, and muffler) to make the exhaust system vs the old Apexi GT system (test pipe to replace cat, catback) which was one solid long piece. Now I have have to go to my buddies exhaust shop and make this dang corksport all 1 piece.

Yo.

The Bonez cat-back doesn't really exist anymore. It was a Dynomax catback painted black which is also no longer made.

Sorry to piss in your cheerios.

I had saw pieces of the Dynomax on Rockauto a couple years back and thought theirs looked just like it only black. I called to ask them if that was the case and was told they no longer have any. Supplier stopped making it. That was two years ago. I'm suspicious the Dynomax was a copy of the HKS sport. I know the y pipe section dropped right into the HKS I had.

HK$ 50mm had straight through packed mufflers..dyno max was a chambered muffler of 3 inner tubes without packing.

Maybe it was a copy in outside appearance only. Though mine weren't what I consider straight through. More like semi straight through like below.

A portion of the exhaust can travel straight through but the pipes are staggered so I wouldn't really consider it chambered either.

They definitely have packing. You can tell by knocking on the cans. Also the flanges were about twice as thick as the ones on the Dynomax Y. I bought it used about 16 years ago. I could've been duped and bought a knock off. Here is a thread with picks of it when I removed it from the car. https://www.rx7club.com/2nd-generati...ement-1079600/

I actually miss it. If I ever get around to learning to weld I'm gonna try to fix it , put maybe 3" tips on it, and put it back on. Definitely quieter than these Ebay cans I have right now, and the butt-dyno says no performance penalty.

This x1000

I'm so tired of hearing people scream "use the search" when most of the years old posts reference products and companies that are either no longer in business or don't have any product support for the FC.

I like the idea, though i suspect the board admins would prefer to see said suppliers contributing monitarily and in the vendor threads (also a graveyard of posts)

Edit: I did some more thinking about it and i really don't think a forum is really the best way to disseminate some of this information. maybe a wiki like NSX Prime, if anyone knows how to spin up one of those? http://www.nsxprime.com/wiki/Main_Page
It could have sections for various aftermarket mods and links to who still makes 'em
