New Belts = Higher Idle?
Hey everyone,
Just replaced all the belts on my 7 and now my idle is higher than it used to be. It used to be 800 - 1000 now I idle around 1300 - 1500. My question, what is the "stock idle"? Since my car has no real mods to speak of. Where should I be idling? Did I overtighten a belt or two or all? It seems to run fine... just has a higher idle. New belts really helped though, I can feel that my revs are more solid and no more "screeeech" noise at 6000 rpms. lol. iSP33D-for-J3SUS :bigthumb: |
In the process of changing the belts, you must have disturbed something else.
Maybe throttle cable slack, vac leak. Normal idle is ~800RPM |
