Need MSD Wiring Help

I have an MSD 6AL that I am putting in my car on the leading ignition. I need to know what configuration does the MSD require to work with the rotary - 4, 6, or 8 cylinder?? Thanks for your help.

I not sure but I think it should be on 4 cyclinder mode.

Run it as a 4-cylinder - the rotary fires once every "crank" rotation, which is the same thing as a 4-cylinder.

don't forget that on rx7 the body is a floating ground, bolt the ground off the msd to the chassis.if not it will not work it all.

Huh?
The RX-7 runs a negative chassis ground - not floating.
Connecting the MSD to the chassis is not recommended.&nbsp Even MSD writes in it instructions to put the thick black wire directly to the battery.

heya, isnt the 6AL rev limited to 6000 rpm? or is the rpm count from the ignition different somehow for a rotary.

The rev limiter is "useless" if the CDI box is only installed on the leading coils.&nbsp The trailing coils will happily keep pushing the engine higher into the revs.&nbsp You need to install some kinda rev cut on all three channels (single leadings and both trailings) for a rev limited to be effective...
