need help with intsall afc neo

its an 89 gxl i dont kow what to set the hot wire pessure and flap at?
i left them at 1-1 and every time you touch the throttle it dies need help please

arghx 02-01-10 04:07 PM

can you set both "hot wire" values to 00 and leave both "flap" values at 01?

89fc3sgtu 02-01-10 04:31 PM

you cant set it at 00
i have them all at 1-1 and evey time you tap the throttle it dies
or does anyone else have a better way to explain how to set it up, the instructions suck

Black Knight RX7 FC3S 02-01-10 05:29 PM

if the neo setting are the same as the safc 2 then it should be flap with 06 in 06 out
on a s4 its also flap but the in out are 05-05
for the cyl its 4 and the arrow should be pointing towards upper right

89fc3sgtu 02-01-10 06:10 PM

i got it set t set with 4 cyl. and poitiig to the upper right, it is an s5
ok so i set the flap at 06-06
now what about hot wire and prssure
and should it hav lik a base map or do i have to retune the air and fuel
the instructions dont explain anything

NakesFC 02-01-10 06:32 PM

Is your wiring correct? It sounds like you mis-wired the the two air lines. I did that the first time I installed my neo. Recheck your wiring. The settings arent like the S-Afc, leave it at 1-1 from there you can adjust your fuel, but check you wiring first.

89fc3sgtu 02-01-10 06:49 PM

do you mean the presure sensor im put and out put the yellow and white wires

arghx 02-01-10 07:01 PM

1 Attachment(s)
it's in the wiring diagram section, available on the website

https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1265072447

Black Knight RX7 FC3S 02-01-10 07:37 PM

you dont need to set the hotwire or the kardan, the fc uses the flap sensor, so its the only thing you need to set

89fc3sgtu 02-01-10 08:08 PM

i wired mine just like the one the right, i just dont know how to set it

arghx 02-01-10 10:48 PM

look at the chart again, it says to use the Flap type, #6 for s5.

89fc3sgtu 02-02-10 02:13 AM

so i would put the flap at 6-6

Black Knight RX7 FC3S 02-02-10 04:19 AM

yea

89fc3sgtu 02-02-10 07:22 AM

ok im going to try it in about 8:30 il let you know how it works out

89fc3sgtu 02-02-10 08:26 AM

ok i put the flap at 6-6 and the others at 1-1
it runs better other than the idle is searching until full throttle then it sounds like it dies and the picks back up at like 1500 rpm and revs to 2500 rpm and it does same thing
and my wiring is exacley how it says to do it for hotwire, pressure, and flap
any one have any ideas need help asap thanks
oh yeah and it says to do intialsetup before you start the engine everytime i hit yes it restarts and i have to re put in all the infromation

arghx 02-02-10 09:34 AM

go to your sensor check screen, wherever it is on the Neo. do all the voltages look ok?

89fc3sgtu 02-02-10 09:43 AM

yeah there all corect but my car wont idle and it sound like it miss fires
or do you have to make your own base map

Roen 02-02-10 09:48 AM

There is no such thing as a base map on an AFC. It operates on the premise of corrections on stock.

Have you made any fuel corrections already?

89fc3sgtu 02-02-10 09:52 AM

i havent done anything im not sure where to start i have all the ect. settings done other than that i dont have anything
where do i need to put the throttle and air map i want it like the stock map for now

Three quick questions:

1) Was the car running fine before you installed the Neo?

After you do the setup with the car keyed to on but not running...

2) if you go to - as I recall - "display" mode and work the throttle pedal do you see the value changing for the throttle? What does it say at no pedal and then to the floor?

3) have a friend move the flap inside the AFM. What values do you see at both ends of the range?
