Need ECU to power on car?
Heya,
Does anyone know if i need to have the stock ECU IN to beable to turn the car on (like to acc, not fully on as in cranking). Currently i dont have the ECU because i sold it to do a Haltech install, and i dont have the haltech installed yet. But i wanted to do a few things i know i can do (like install a stereo in the meantime) but i need power to verify. Thanks. |
All the ECU does is run the engine. It gets it's power from a relay switched on by turning the key to ON, so the car needs to be "turned on" for the ECU to work, not the other way around.

Ahh thank you NZ, appreciate your help!
