any other details? mileage? body condition?

tr4c3 09-15-05 09:58 PM

Give us some more info on the car. Milage, condition, any problems? If you have some pictures that would help also. They are great cars and my first 7 was a gxl. If you decided on getting it, good luck.

thats pretty pimp if all else fails you have a limited slip. Unless someone pulled it out. Crawl up under it and check for a little information plate on the rear-end to see if it says its a limited slip. other than that check to see if it runs body condition etc..

surferbeans86 09-15-05 11:46 PM

the body is in great shape new paint no rust the tint needs to be removed the inside of the car is decent, its got a newer transmission and a new radiator im worried about the milage its got 140000 miles on it. And it might need a rebuild soon it drives nice tho

DREYKO 09-15-05 11:52 PM

sounds good, take care of it and that rebuild may be a ways off yet, ive got 256xxx, and still strong on orig. motor

Cybaster 09-16-05 12:01 AM

if u can, check the compression, of the engine to see if it is running strong.
take a look

sounds like a good deal to me even with the high milage check for bondo under that new paint if thats good then id say get it and start sliding sideways hahaha

jl1rx7 09-16-05 12:31 AM

sounds like a good deal, i dont know about how much money you are willing to spend, and how well the motorwas taken care of, but if you do buy it, oil change, change plugs, etc and then check fuild levels every coulpe of days and change the oil every 3k your car will run great, dont worry about the mileage we all drive them with huge numbers, and between hear ebay, and advance auto you should be set for parts, i had my 88 for 7 years and 200k untill it was killed in a hit and run

RETed 09-16-05 06:22 AM

Are you prepared to dump another $1,000 to get the car into top running shape?
This is assuming none of the major (i.e. engine, transmission, rear diff, etc.) parts are bad...

Also, check the FAQ. :) How to buy guides are very helpful.

I bought my 88 GXL for 1900 with interior in great condition. It had 145k miles on it, I drove it another 15k miles and it started burning coolant, now look at my sig.

surferbeans86 09-16-05 12:38 PM

i went and looked at it again its actually got 125000 miles on it no bondo i figure if somthing happens it should be around $500 to rebuilt the engine plus he offered me a 2nd transmission which needs to be rebuilt but hes gonna throw it in free so im really thinking about buying it the new radiator is being put in now

idsigloo 09-16-05 12:48 PM

offer 1500, if he doesn't take it, offer up. make sure when you offer the 1500 you look him straight in the eye and have the most amount of seriousness you can muster. also keep nodding your head, subliminally he'll think its a good idea because your nodding your head. I'm in retail, trust me, it works.
