na vs. tII

I'm trying to decide between going s4TII engine in my sport with an n/a drive line...like 250 hp

or a decked out n/a engine....FRESH rebuild...Ported aluminum, flywheel, dope clutch..

What do you think i should do? Rebuild my NA or swap in a TII

Turbo's are fast. NA's are quick at best.

Go with the NA rebuild. I've had to go to my other hand to count all the people I know with TII's that have blown their motors. Just saw some guy detonate his FD on Saturday.

But...don't let me dissuade you. *grin*

turboII if you want a fast second car.

Takes a licking by everything save a non-SHO Ford Taurus. Ask Evan about his Taurus race. He had trouble.

Bro, I don't care if I get beat by a Turbo PT Cruiser...which I easily will. I just was on a track and was hanging with Z06's, WRX's, FD's, and a TT 911 in the twisty bits.

*shrug*

When I left for home and was getting gas I saw a guy with an FD who just blew his motor. I passed him as he drove 55 on I-5. I was going 85.

Hes just kidding, i was just telling him about my night....And i never have people trying to race me and he took off i took off just to turn left into the 7-11 parking lot....Funny part was i wasn't racing and i kept up with him....

It's like having your car, and then adding the ability to accelerate.

Well my NA is on par with an S4 T2 so I dont think im lagging too severly on drag capabilities. Im not building the car in that direction either so I dont mind if this is my limit.

Your dilemna does interest me in regards to using the NA driveline with the T2 motor. Im also faced with the same choice and dont know if the NA driveline will hold up.

with a good port on the n/a you will be able to make 220-240hp.. that will be a ;loud but very fun car to drive.. especially when you wanna beat on it and not worry about detonating.. :)

For once, Im choosing NA. Here are my reasons:

The NA is far more concievable, I mean what are the chances that you will actually do the TII swap? very slim. (not cracking, just telling it like it is)Might as well start planning on something you'll see through.

Replacing the NA is WAY more affordable...and as much as I hate admitting this, TII's have a lot more shit to go wrong (especially in a swap)

This is my outlook, I love turbos, and will always have one over an NA...but i also have the luxury of being able to afford more than one car. A daily driver is a must if you own a TII and plan on doing any work to it...people can argue, but it's true...and Im a turbo supporter!!!
