My Transmission is Prettier than YOUR Transmission!!

I had everything out for a clutch change so I thought I'd try something a bit unique and paint my Transmission Blue.

It took three days and two cans of Brakleen and I still didn't get all the gunk off it but it looked much better - some areas almost looked polished.

Here's the Transmission before I did anything to it (Hadn't even cleaned it yet here):

Now here's the PRETTY BLUE ONE!!

magus2222 05-03-07 01:41 AM

wow, i know im tired, but is that a t2 s4? or s5? i cant tell, the car says s5, so im assuming t2 tranny due to the bushings mounts, cause why in gods name would you do that to an N/A?
kinda like putting a bow on a sow's ear, no?

peace

blmcquig 05-03-07 02:09 AM

well, its definatley not an S4 TII.
(looks decent, btw)

slpin 05-03-07 02:10 AM

i dont think its prettier
my dirty s5 t2 tranny has mean ribs on it.

staticguitar313 05-03-07 02:12 AM

ribbed for her pleasure?

Stanello 05-03-07 02:53 AM

Looks like an 88- NA tranny to me.

My5ABaby 05-03-07 07:11 AM

Nice work. I thought about doing it when I had mine out but I was just eager to drive the car (broke on the way home from buying it).

Since you're car is less than 18 years old, I guess that means you're not turned off by it yet...

88 N/A as someone said before.

It's like stretchy pants... is just for fun!!!!!

Cheers,
Cody

so whats wrong with doing stuff like that to an NA...
last time i checked painting your tranny gave you as much HP as decals!
good job bro. it just adds to the overall cleanliness of the car. its harder for gunk to stay on with painted surfaces in my opinion.

This is a pretty transmission. Not mine, its Tinvestor's search for his 10AE build.

he was bored, what idea would you come up with when your tranny is out?

fc3sfreek 05-04-07 01:09 AM

sandblasting and polishing is the way to go ;-)

86gxl_fc 05-04-07 01:19 AM

i just think its stupid when people put down an N/a..
one of those -dont waste your time.. its just an N/A...-comments.
i hope your apex seal kills your turbo.

I would like to thank magus2222 for the most useless post of the year. God forbid someone put some time into their car to make something look better.

There's nothing wrong with cleaning something up and making it look good. It's not like he added something that's non-functional (or actually hurts performance).
