My T2 has another Honda part!
 

Its actually the 2nd Honda part on my T2(rag now(if closeminded))! Remember my Teg taillights? Het me if you must but, I used the exhaust valve from an H22 as my new wastegtae door. Took the angle grinder to it and reshaped it a bit, cut the stem off it, cut the old WG "door" off, ported the death outta the stock WG, welded it in and said good by to WG induced overboosting(I hope)! I havent tuned it yet, but I am hpoing that at around 11 lbs of boost I can , now, hit the N20 button , in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear and see little waivering in boost PSI. The stock WG I can bairly fit my pinky in it, now I can wiggle my thumb around in it!! I told you guys Honda made some parts of worth!!!

oh yeah, that horrid looking teg conversion thingy... I have about as much respect for it as a V8 Rx-7 swap :rolleyes:

What? My opinion on the car is that it looks like ass. But it's your car and so long as your happy w/it that's all that matters, right? :)

Did you just weld the valve head directly to the arm, or can the head still wiggle around a bit like the old flap could. I've heard that's quite important for proper sealing. If it leaks, boost will climb slower. Just curious, because I plan to do something similar.

I couldnt find any way to retain that "pivot" you speak of. I just made sure that with the actuator arm pulling on it closed it would fit flush. I havent noticed any difference in spool time. Realistically a tiny exhaust passage around the door shouldnt have any huge affect(IMO)anyway.


Dre how much custom work have you done to your rex? Still got those dated ass tails on there huh? Forum members who just make useless and negative posts should be banned. dated tails? hahahahaahha, if theyre so dated, then why does every car copy them, even hondas :D (RSX, S2000, etc etc etc)

I dont mind the look at the Integra lights..i think his car looks not bad...i just HATE the mirrors.. other then that it looks fine to me...

I guess it doesn't look really horrible (did a good job on the conversion), and it almost looks like it fits correctly with the car (I had a green '96 GS-R), but.. something about Integra taillights on an RX-7 just doesn't sound right when you think about it.

This thread was intended to be about wastegates, funny people are more concerned about my taillights than a good cost effective motor mod, that solves a notorious T2 problem.

People have been welding larger flappers on for years. Its not exactly ground breaking.

Therefore not worth mentioning? Would you consider your contribution to this thread worthwhile, or beneficial? Thanx youve been a great help.

That is true, IMO if he would direct more of his energy there and less trying to emulate TFATF he would go a lot farther, a lot faster!! Come on a PS2?
