My supercharged FC - work in progress
Just wanted to post a few pics of my 91 FC that I bought from my best friend two weeks ago down in NC. I only paid $1700 for the car and s/c. The car dark blue with a light blue interior. Before I bought this car I had never seen one this color before. The only issues with the car is carpet and the peeling clear coat on the hood, roof and spoiler. I plan on taking care of both in the next 30 days or so. I drove down to his house this morning to install the s/c but ran out of time before I had to drive back to VA.....cant wait to finish up. We will finish the install next weekend...hopefully I'll get the rest of my mods during the week. I'll post more pics once the install is complete.
Btw the hood is not closed in the pics and the blue carb hat will be replaced by a polished one that I already have. I'm going to fab a 3.5" cold air intake with aluminum intake tube and cap it off with an AEM filter. All my gauges came from Prosport....they will be installed in a custom gauge pod made of fiberglass. |
Wow...Thats a steal....is it for sale? lol
Good luck with it, might wanna clean up the motor a bit to give it its shine, not every day you see a SC rotary motor... |
There is a company that sells triple gauge pods for the 2nd gen, but either way thats nice find...keep us posted with the build up...hows the car run with the super charger

I'll let you know next weekend. |
good stuff...

not a bad deal at all.. good luck.. ill be keeping posted as to how this works out for you!

Forget the carb hat cone filter thing, go with an normal 14" air cleaner. It will fall flat on it's face at 6500 rpm with a carb hat.
|
And the list of S/C'd FCs gets longer- me likey. Dig the color, too :D

Do you have a pic of the carb hat??

I tried this K&N carb hat with a 4" opening and a huge K&N filter, and it sucked.

since you have a throttle body instead of a carb you may have more success than I did, good luck with it.

Got to drive my car for the first time today but ran into a fuel issue. I think I have a bad injector. Will try to post a video once I get the issue resolved but for now here are a few pics I took today.

One of my friends has a 91 NA that is the same color. Great color, and good luck witht the build.
|
Looks good Will! Maybe next trip down to Carolina I'll have you stop by and help me put in my radiator. :)
|
Thats really cool. Post some videos and more pictures when you get it running correctly!

Hey all it has been awhile since my last update. I wasn't able to make it down to NC to work on my ride until today. My buddy got 95% of the bugs worked out. The car runs great and holds 8.5 psi all the way to redline....I'm currently running a 9 psi pulley. I have a 10 psi pulley but I dont think I'm going to use it. We started doing a bit of the body work today. As you can see in the pic we are molding a hood scoop directly over the S/C. My custom cold air intake works great but I want to keep the engine bay as cool as possible. I also added a 4000 cfm cooling fan which I will swap onto my Koyo radiator once I get it. Well enjoy the pics and video clip. Sorry the clip is kinda fuzzy...time for a better camera I guess.

doesnt have a dizzy ? Its crank angle sensor. (edit: ah just saw in the pic he had changed to a dizzy setup)
1stgen8, what ecu are you running for the fuel then ? ? Im assuming a modified stock turbo ecu ? Nice setup, will be good seeing the range of power your getting. Any idea or your intake temps with no intercooler ? |

Any idea or your intake temps with no intercooler ? The stock NA ecu is still in the car but the stock fuel setup has been pulled. Years ago when my buddy bought the s/c he also bought an aftermarket V8 fuel injection kit. I forgot to take a pic of the black box (in the glove box) that controls the fuel and can't remember the name right now. I will ask my buddy and let you know. Not sure of the intake temps but my cold air setup is helping. When I took the car out this weekend and ran it hard a few times the intake pipe was barley warm when I checked it. It was roughly 70-75 degrees out. I also think the 4000 cfm cooling fan I pulled from a Ford Taurus is helping. The whole time I was driving the prosport oil & water temp gauges did not pass 180 degrees. This was before we cut the hood for the scoop. |
