mx5 Diff in Gen 2
Uh...Im assuming you mean the whole rear end?
You know those are only 6inch rear ends?
You know they break at around 200 hp?
You know most of them are either open or viscious LSD's?

I dont know about fitment on a FC, but some 94+ Miatas have the torsen LSD, and it is fairly strong. Many people are pushing 250rwhp on FMII powered turbo miata, and the stock driveline seems to handle it quite well. Anything after that HP level is where you see things breaking though. I dont think it would be of any concern to a N/A FC though.

Is that why all the guys making bigger power try to upgrade to the rx rear ends?
EDIT: And whole rx drivetrain for that matter.
The bottom line is why would you ever want to put a Miata rear in an RX?

The Torsen diffs are a very popular upgrade to a NA RX7 and do indeed bolt right in. They have proven their durability in ITS competition with motors putting out as much as 200 hp (that's about all a legally modded ITS motor will make). I believe the Mazdaspeed website even lists the RX7 as an application under the Torsen part number.
